No pun intended - sometimes the things that shines might be gold ... but that does not make it better - wanting it that is. Greed and all that ... on the other hand having wealth can be more than helpful (also with your health in more than one connections between those two).

The acting is good - and the story makes sense overall. There are quite a few gray areas in this movie - especially when it comes to the morality of the characters. And that can be seen as a good thing - as in the movie does take its viewers seriously and treats them more than fairly ... which of course is something that the bad (villain) of the movie is not doing ... you will have quite a few feelings about a few things shown here ... be aware of that and suspend your disbelief.

The Legand Of The Loan Shark, as the title is translated is a fabulous tale that is made real by a wonderful Spanish cast and crew, none of which I have ever heard of.

The plot is a simple one and based on revenge, lust, and lots of greed.

The acting is superb. The production values are both excellent and immersive considering the films obviously restrictive budget.

The lighting, direction and cinematography are the stars for me. The scene in the tavern is fabulous and there are many others like them.

At its best, it is a study of greed and how it will pollute and replace a persons soul.

Very highly recommended.
