Avis à la une
Wolverine (2011) thrusts Logan, the gruff mutant with adamantium claws, into a Japanese crime saga. He's on a mission to rescue his lost love, Mariko Yashida, who's been kidnapped by her father, Shingen, a yakuza boss, for an arranged marriage to the shady Hideki Kurohagi in Madripoor. The anime, produced by Madhouse, leans into a dark, stylized vibe with neon-lit cities and samurai-inspired battles. Logan teams up with Yukio, a fierce assassin seeking revenge, adding a layer of grit to the tale. The show's themes of loyalty and redemption feel raw, but the romantic focus might not click for fans expecting Wolverine's usual feral edge. I recommend approaching it with an open mind, ready for a blend of Marvel and anime aesthetics, though it may not satisfy those craving classic X-Men action.
Sadly, this anime stumbles more than it slashes. The animation is a highlight-vivid and fluid, with fight scenes like Wolverine versus Omega Red packing a punch. But the story drags, stretching a thin plot over 12 episodes with repetitive fights that lose steam. Logan's character feels off; he's too polished, lacking the rebellious, "don't care" attitude I love. The romance with Mariko feels forced, and supporting characters like Yukio and Kikyo lack depth, making it hard to care about their stakes. The 3/10 rating reflects my disappointment in the weak narrative and character missteps, despite the visual flair. It's a bold swing that doesn't quite connect.

While I love these original comic book stories, straight from the source, even animation wise, these Marvel Anime segments aren't my favorite to watch, great Wolverine story though!
Well, I just finished watching the Wolverine Anime Mini Series and it was decent.
Positives for Wolverine (2011): Similar to the X-Men Anime Mini Series, the animation in this series is absolutely phenomenal. Milo Ventimiglia gives a good performance as Logan/Wolverine and while he is the weakest portrayal of this character, I still enjoyed what he brought to this character. I liked the journey that Logan goes on in this mini series. And finally, the action sequences in the series are awesome then again that's to be expected from any anime.
Negatives for Wolverine (2011): The story in this movie isn't that I'm interesting to me. For me, this story was done better in The Wolverine (2013). Also, this show's portrayal of Wolverine isn't the most compelling version of the iconic X-Men Character.
Overall, Wolverine (2011) is a decent enough binge watch for both X-Men and Anime fans.

First off, I just want to say I the Marvel Animated Universe. And Wolverine is personally my favourite superhero from Marvel. But the only problem is that anime and Marvel Animation don't go well together. I hated this. It was badly animated and ugh, it was just terrible! I don't understand how people can even watch this. There are no words to describe how terrible it was. It had to spark of Marvel in it. The has got to be the worst Marvel Animated ever made. How can people even think about making this crap when it deserves to be thrown into the trash! It was not only the worst animation adaption of the Marvel Animated Universe, it is also the biggest disappointment.
Logan learns that his true love, beloved sweetheart and girlfriend Mariko Yashida, who disappeared one year ago, has been taken to Tokyo by her father Shingen Yashida, the head of the Japanese crime syndicate Kuzuryu and a supplier of A.I.M., in order to be wed to Hideki Kurohagi. Wolverine goes on a quest to rescue Mariko and defeat Shingen and Hideki, encountering several opponents along the way.
This was just terrible. I DON'T recommended this!

- AnecdotesAs he did with Iron Man (2010) Warren Ellis wrote outlines for each episode of each of each of the Madhouse Marvel anime. These outlines were then turned into scripts by Madhouse's writers, and then made into animation by Madhouse's directors and animators. The outlines were really just plot, pacing and color and Ellis expected that they have been seriously rewritten in places by the actual writers.
