A musical gem for all children and their parents.

I remember first watching Barney's concert show 30 years ago when it aired on PBS during one of those Pledge-of-Support membership drives. Join your favorite lovable, huggable purple dinosaur and his Backyard Gang for songs, dancing, and all kinds of surprises. Barney's concert from 1991 also introduces Baby Bop, a character who would be seen quite often on the PBS series. Many familiar songs heard on the concert video include "Itsy Bitsy Spider", "Pop! Goes the Weasel", and "The Alphabet Song" which includes a couple of foreign versions.

Anecdotes
The first video in the series to feature a more fatter costume for Barney which resembles more closer to his costume for the first and second season of the TV series which would be released a year later.

Versions alternatives
Re-releases of the video have a different version of "You Are Special" sung over the original version with a different arrangement and some lyrics changed to the current version used in Barney and Friends. The instrumental version of the song played during credits also has a different arrangement.
