Well, given the low rating on IMDb and the general feel that the movie had from its cover alone, I should have taken heed and listened to the voice at the back of my head telling me to leave the movie alone and find something else to watch. But I do believe in giving a movie a chance, and so I did pick up the 2017 movie "Haunted Maze" and decided to watch it.
And I managed to watch a staggering 25 minutes of it, then I just got up and turned it off from sheer and utter boredom. There was nothing to the storyline that had any appeal to me, nor were the characters interesting, and the movie just reeked to high heavens of low budget production and skill.
The storyline was as generic as it could get, believe it or not. Even for a horror movie such as this, "Haunted Maze" was super generic, to the point where it was becoming stupid.
The characters in the movie failed to impress me, and I found no enjoyment in watching them mill about aimlessly on the screen, staggering and stumbling through a less than mediocre storyline and script. I am sure that the actors and actresses were talented in their own rights, for better or worse, but I wasn't particularly impressed with what I saw.
I managed to recognize one actor in the movie, and that was John Beasley. Can't really claim to be a fan of his, but at least they had a familiar face on the cast list, which worked in favor of the movie, I suppose.
Well, after 25 minutes of being bored senseless, my limit of self-torture was exhausted and I call it quits on the movie. At least I gave it a chance. And I can in all honesty say that I will not be returning to watch how haunted the maze actually was.
