Avis à la une
IMDb got it wrong the film is great great character portrayal very believable strong story and all in all very enjoyable to watch right from the start the idea is captivating which in some cases if you take such a good idea , bad IMDb score= a b or c grade film bad camera work crap script and you start thinking oh great this is one of those eagle entertainment flicks. but this film is the complete opposite.I'm glad i took the time to see it,i passed on it a few times but when i had a read of the comments i thought hey they cant be all wrong which makes me wonder how many other films that I've passed on that are actually good because of IMDb giving it a rubbish score lesson learned i think
you wont be disappointed

This is a at least a 6 or 7/10. Before viewing, I thought all the user reviews down here were the writer under various guises trying to bump the film up! I thought what low budget trash is this! Pathetic! But - No. They are real people who are baffled at the current low (5/10) rating. I cannot say I blame them - IMDb ratings lately seem as about as honest as a 9 dollar note.
The insertion of the main character trapped in the foggy memories of the heroin user's mind for 4 years, trying to escape means the film runs through twists and turns in the plot aka the junkies mind and relationships and past horrific memories (robbing his own dad at gunpoint for example) is a reasonable plot - OK - It would have been far better if the junkie was much more of a dark character instead of a pathetic one - but the plot still moves along, and it's low budget doesn't hamper it.
Sure - it's nowhere near a 8 or 9, which I would say 'Limitless' is (in the same sort of apples to apples comparison - the same genre), or even another 'Inception' but certainly a decent watch.

A little slow to get started but stick with it for 20 mins and you won't be disappointed.
Without giving spoilers, the ending was a little "by the numbers" and I might have preferred a twist of some kind rather than a straight resolution. In saying that, though, certainly doesn't deserve anything less than a 6.
There's certainly potential for a sequel here and the ending I'm thinking of would have lent itself to that. No matter, though,
A very creditable early full-length work by Nir Paniry, who should now try his hand at something even larger-scale.

Utterly confused about the title of this movie (it's either Extraction or Extracted) and its quality I dived in it, expecting nothing. What I got in return was something that seemed really innovative and new, but was actually a really old idea with a twist. It all revolves around a device that allows you to access and immerse yourself into other people memories and experiences, much like the movie Strange Days [1995]. This time we can witness how that device was made and funded, and eventually tested. The clash of the science and real, corrupt and devious world is another thing that I liked about Extracted. Although the hipster assistant was a bit too much. The cast is relatively unknown but they did their job really good. Dominic Bogart (Anthony) stole the show from lead actor Sasha Roiz (Tom), as the drug addicted accused of murdering his girlfriend. This doesn't mean that Sasha was bad, but just that Dominic was more passionate and realistic. Sasha redeemed himself, either intentionally or unintentionally, by giving his character a dose of douchiness, showing us that not everything is black or white.
Tom and Eric are a couple of scientist working on a machine that would allow them to go into peoples minds and memories. The main purpose of this device is to help autistic and other people with severe psychological and physical disabilities, but as the research starts to reach its critical phase they are forced to take funding no matter what obligations it may bring. Through Richard, their middleman, they contact a mysterious stranger who is willing to fund their research. As it turns out the mysterious stranger had some other things in mind when he decided to invest, but one thing remained the same, the test. They meet on a remote farm in the country, and there it all goes as planned, right up 'till the end where Tom is supposed to exit the subjects mind
The real rating of this movie should be 7 or 8, but I am giving it a 9 to encourage filmmakers and others to follow their example. With a unique script, several overlapping stories which all make you think and look at things from another perspective, Extracted is an example of how science fiction movie with a restricted budget should be made. You start with a very good concept idea, build characters on it, hire the right people to play them and eventually direct the whole thing. A job well done

Whats not to like about an unique storyline, excellent acting, and a plot that will keep you guessing to the very end? Extracted is a good movie, it's not your big typical Hollywood production, but none the less this is a fine example of quality film and story making. I don't expect to see much push behind this movie, so the likelihood you'll hear much about it is improbable. This is one of those movies that has actors you've never heard of or seen before, and no big trailer push on the big screen or TV for that matter. This is your typical low budget movie in the sense that it has no name recognition with writers, directors, producers, or actors, but where it differs from other low budget films is this one is actually quite good. Don't let the unknown detour you from seeing this one, it's original, captivating, and engrossing, and worthy of viewer support.
Le saviez-vous
- AnecdotesThe original opening for this film was much longer and went into greater detail on how Tom's machine worked.
- GaffesWarning: Spoilers Police always check for gunpowder traces on hands to verify who is the shooter. It would have shown who is guilty and who is innocent.
From an active police detective: The police (specifically the medical examiner) would likely only test for gunshot residue if they saw stippling, powder burns, or defensive wounds, which helps establish if the shooter was standing close by. But they wouldn't check this with suicide in mind. You get the residue by being close to the gun when it goes off, and it doesn't matter which end of the barrel you're on. So the presence of residue on her hands wouldn't mean she had to have fired the gun. There is no plot hole here.
