Every story from the Bible that Superbook tells, has a lesson to be learned and the lesson is applied to real life situations. Superbook keeps all of the kids in my Bible study classes entertained and wanting more. I uses this for kids TK-8th grade.
The start of most Superbook episodes is with Chris, Joy and Gizmo (the robot) and either Chris or Joy has a situation to deal with (making the right choice, helping someone, forgiving someone, etc.). Then Superbook takes them back in time to a part of the Bible that will help them with their situation back home. The kids and Gizmo interact with the people from the Bible and learn so much! The fact that Superbook can cram so much information in such a short time frame is beyond me. During the kids adventure in time, they ask questions and a lot of times Gizmo uses his inner computer to answer the question OR someone from the Bible answers it. After the kids have learned their lesson, Superbook takes them back home at the same time they left and the kids can now make a good decision and take action; for example, sharing their pizza with the less fortunate.
If you buy these DVDs, which I high recommend you do, they each come with a family discussion guide filled with questions, where in the Bible to find the answer, and prayers. I use the discussion guide to help me come up with questions for my middle school aged classes, really get them to think about how what happened in Superbook relates to life.
Overall this is an amazing series and I always look forward to what story they will release next!

It's actually a really decent show. I watched it in school as an elementary-schooler and later used it to teach my brother the Bible stories. Superbook approaches them in an interesting and fairly accurate way. I would probably recommend it to kids ages 7+ as there are some scary scenes/blood (but it is the Bible, after all). The stories are explained in a much more complicated way and can be difficult for younger kids to understand. The animation definitely improves as the series progresses, and there's an applicable lesson taught in every episode. Be sure to explain to your kid that the kids and the robot are filler and aren't part of the real Bible story (this is pretty obvious, though). Overall I think it's a great show and is very helpful in teaching Bible stories.
Bro- this show is really good! My husband has been on a Christian kick lately and was asking if there are any children Christian shows. I remember Veggie Tales was- but it's not available in our streaming. So we found Super Book! We love it! The stories are so good- it's even kinda scary at times ,, but I really like that they didn't make it super corny ... my husband and I are learning a lot too. It's been decades since I went to Bible camp/ but this is fun for the family and we are seriously learning a lot of stories we didn't even know about. This and Bluey are our favorite kids shows for sure. We watch it with our son before bed and it is a positive way to end the day for sure .
I don't understand why someone "takyahlove22" would base your rating on the color of someone's skin???? I think you need to reevaluate your way of thinking because it's not about that.. I honestly didn't even notice anything like that because I was to busy watching parts of the Bible unfold and what it was teaching. I don't read the Bible and think about what race someone was... But at the same time I don't go out in the world and judge people... Especially skin tone..... Because God sees not skin color, but your heart. Leave the judging up to him. The fact that you noticed color is a sad.....
Superbook , is one of the best shows to watch with my son. Not only is good for kids but also good for adults as well. It really helps you to understand the Bible better while also showing you how the same lessons can be learned in today's society. Take it from a bible reader , it breaks each story down in the Bible so that we can really learn what the word is.
So, if you have kids, make sure that they watch it. It's a great show with great content and it may can help them through many of the things that they are dealing with in school or may deal with in school or at home. This show really gives a different perspective on life and the decisions that we make.
