It is really good like GOOD. After watching Soul land, Battle through the heaven this was my third favorite. The story is great and the characters is just amazing. His first goal is to become a god of war but who imagined where he is now. The art is just gorgeous and unique. The story is very different from the rest of the donghua out there. The mc characters is just perfect to this story and there is no boring episode. Each episode is just a vibe and always make you get hyped up. The story line went from earth to universe with perfect speed not rushed and not too slow. It was just 10/10 and the rest of the characters are amazing as well.
Chinese cultivation stories are often weird or incomprehensible to Western viewers, too much rambling about meridians and purple plum blossom strikes etc. This one is quite a bit more to Western audiences' tastes though, the scifi setting and the character's common sense behaviour, speech and personalities works much better than the traditional fantasy wuxia setting.
Sure the main character is on an anime-esque power journey but he tends to succeed through smarts, tactics and grit more than just being over-powered at all times. The writer/producers also aren't afraid to kill off characters appropriately so while the main character has obvious plot armour there's a fair bit of tension not knowing who else might survive. The villains are threatening in the right way and the supporting cast are mostly pretty engaging, especially the core team as time goes on.
The 3D graphics jumps all over the place quality-wise but the visual design more than makes up for it, the world and the power system are interesting and very filled out. There's a few funny bits where you'll see visual styles lifted from other notable shows, be it Godzilla or the MCU but it's more "rule of cool" than outright copying. Music is pretty good too.
Episodes are short but its currently over 120 so that's a lot of viewing and quite a bit more story than you would expect, perfect for bingeing. If you've been put off or bored by other donghua in the past I positively recommend this series for Westerners looking to get into an excellent Chinese series.

"Swallowed Star" is hands down the best show I've ever watched. The story is gripping, the characters are well-developed, and the animation is stunning. After watching, I couldn't resist diving into the novel and am now on chapter 1220-it's that good! The blend of sci-fi, action, and character growth is unparalleled. The pacing is fantastic, and each episode leaves you wanting more. This show has completely shifted my preference to Chinese anime over Japanese anime. The rich lore, emotional depth, and epic battles make it unforgettable. I truly hope the series continues to explore Luo Feng's journey. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fresh, compelling story.
When I first started watching this donghua I thought it will be one of those attempts of chinese animation industry to show up it's persistance to keep sticking with 3D animation that's never going to make a mark. But I am very glad that I was wrong. Amazing visuals that are backed by solid storyline and it's a feast to eyes. Now I can proudly recommend this to everyone saying that guyz I have found a masterpiece, don't miss watching it.
The amount of emotion that's been put into it can be clearly seen with each passing episode and how one person raises above all and becomes the hope that's absolutely necessary in the world this story takes place in. I loved how the world came together and stood against one common enemy. We can feel the sacrifices that were made and the hardships that people in that world are going through.
Most stories fall flat after first season but in this donghu's case the second season is much more solid. There are times when I though to lay it down but then comes a banger of a episode which makes you completely awed by the effort and depth put into that episode. I don't want to get into the story details as I want you to experience this visual wonder on your own and to let you count your own jaw dropping moments. Kudos to the makers. Best donghua ever. Keep going and make more awesome episodes and hope you get more recognition in the future for the efforts you put in for creating this.

Personally am disappointed with the changes made to the anime series so far when it comes to the story line as compared to the novel itself. Also making one character playing multiple roles for example the manger of the battle arena of the virtual network playing the same role as a clone in the heavenly bridge to me is bad, and there are more instances also. When it comes to the original universe and the virtual universe at times there is no difference when watching in it which makes it not look original, I know it's an advanced technological civilization but it should depict as such. Personally I suggest they should continue to go with the names used in the novel and not to be changed, because it makes people like us who have read the novel more than 2 times disappointed.
They should make the advancement of technologies depict more and show more luxury because it's advanced human race. Also the translation to English at times are not correct for readers like us. Furthermore I like the idea of compressing the adventure to BLOOD RIVER WORLD a movie with few episodes but telling the full story also good, that should be done often when it comes to the missions Lou Feng accepted whiles in ABSOLUTE REAGION and the PRIMAL REGION. I believe the studios, producers and directors of the anime would consider this review carefully .
