Cold Creepy Feeling

i do not understand IMDb's rating system. i wrote a review last night for this terrible awful movie and there were no other reviews. come back today to find four one star reviews and mine is nowhere to be found. as of yesterday this film was a 9.9 with six people who rated it. now there are ten people who rated it at i assume the last four are the four that gave it one star and left scathing reviews and is still at an 8.8.

as the other reviewers say, don't bother with this "film". it was literally 40 minutes of drivel before they even get to the haunted house and the movie is only 86 minutes total.

watch the trailer and you will wish you wouldn't have even wasted the 60 or so seconds doing that.

This movie was absolutely horrible, such amateur crap. Bad acting, no budget, terrible camera work and editing; there's really nothing redeeming at all. Entirely not scary. Nothing would save this film to make it work. Characters are unmemorable and perform mundane crap for the first 42 minutes of the movie.

Yet another amateur production trying to ride the coattails of Paranormal Activity and the lot.

Please don't waste your time by watching this like I did. The people who made this movie shouldn't quit their day jobs. Either that, or someone needs to go back to film school, perhaps part-take in free community center acting workshops.

Before I get ripped for giving this a 9, let me say it is not for the quality or the intended scare factor. Rather, this is just the type of movie a group of friends would have fun shredding to pieces from the non existent story line, the horrible camera work and the acting. This movie, if you want to call it that, is a cinematic gift to group that enjoys finding the faults that make it so bad. So grab some beer and pizza, sit back and start ripping!

I got really exited when I seen this film especially with a 9.9 rating (being the highest I've ever seen on IMDb) so I put it on and oh my god I would not even give it a 1 out of 10, I turned it off after 5 minutes probably not even that the acting was dreadful and it looked like it had bed shoot by a kid with a home video camera! sorry for being so blunt it just I was really looking forward to watching a good horror and I really thought it would be with it hight rating and instead I got this rubbish I was very disappointed :( I really would not wast your money or Your time on this movie if you can even call it that! Just watch the trailer it says it all!! wish I had before I wasted my time on it :(

A young couple, Lisa Younger and Jared Vandenberg, escape the Los Angeles rat race for the quiet life in Joshua Tree, California but paranormal visions and voices turn the house of their dreams into a house of nightmares.

They enlist the help of a spiritualist, Alex Damiano, to help exorcise the premises but this only awakens and angers the demonic presence that lurks within.

When the town Sheriff, Dennis Woodruff, becomes involved, he discovers that another family mysteriously disappeared 10 years earlier without a trace and he also becomes entangled in the web of evil horror.

What is surprising about this movie is not how total bad it it. Nor how it appears to never rise above the quality of a 15 year old's home movie, but that some of the "actors" have actually gotten other film work! Look for them in Barely Legal and some other quasi porn flicks.

It's horrible. The plot drags on with really badly taped scenic shot of Joshua Tree and highways to no where.

OMG! The only consistent thing about the film is he horrible acting.

For artistic value a couple scenes are taped in sepia tone. Wow. Did you pull that out of film making book or just flip the wrong switch on your $200 camcorder?

Something all you home film makers have to really start thinking about - - you need to either get a better camera than the one from Costco you're using, OR you need to spend a couple bucks in post production to soften the harshness of your HD taping. It's not appealing. Especially in a movie about the supernatural.

The mystic in this movie truly cannot act her way out of a paper bag. The entire production feels like it was made on the fly. -- "Hey! I just got a new $200 video camera -- let's have another beer and make a movie!

Biggest prop cost in the film? Looks like the spent about $15 on candles! Don't expect much more!
