Avis à la une
This is a true delight. I saw this on a HUGE screen in Redwood City and got totally caught up in it.
It's got great original songs (when was the last time you saw that in an original film?), eye-popping animation and an all-star cast of Drag Queen voices at their best.
The positive messages are all there but they never beat you over the head with it. It's done in gentle but energized beats without any bitchy cynicism or double entendre sex jokes. Yes, this is a "Drag SuperShero" movie that everyone can enjoy. Director Anthony Hand has really come up with something original and buyout for these trying times and I was there for all of it. Well done.

I had the pleasure of watching Maxxie LaWow: Drag Super-shero on the big screen at the OutShine Film Festival in Miami Beach. The animation is GORGEOUS!!!! It's incredibly rare to see an animated feature made 100% independently as Maxxie was. And...it was made entirely in the US. There was constant laughter throughout the film and it was fun watching all the toes tapping and heads nodding to the music. The story is truly fun, silly and uplifting. It's a story for all ages. From kids to us older folks. There's something for everyone to enjoy. This is a true gem of a film that can be enjoyed on so many levels. Whether it's the coming of age story, or the meanest of the mean villains, or the super-shero who comes to save the day. Enjoy!
From start to finish, this animated romp is an absolute delight. The music? Spot on. The characters? Fabulous and full of life. And the story? A wildly fun journey through Maxxie's origin that had us howling with laughter and cheering for more. Whether you're a longtime drag fan or just discovering the world, this is a must-see celebration of queerness, creativity, and power.
The writing was sharp and witty-we literally laughed out loud multiple times-and the Maxxie LaWow universe is bursting with potential. We're already counting down the days until the sequel!
Long live Maxxie LaWow, we want more!

An animated drag queen superhero? Sounds like something cooked up in a focus group. But this movie's got style for days. The animation's like a mash-up of all those Saturday morning cartoons we used to veg out to, but cranked up to 11. It's trippy in all the right ways.
The story is of an insecure barista who transforms into this badass drag queen superhero. The villain is called Dyna Bolical - I mean, come on, that's just clever.
The voice acting's solid. Pretty sure I recognized some legit drag queens in there. They nailed the whole campy vibe without making it too cheesy. It's the kind of flick you can watch with your buddies or your family to have a some fun.
There's a message about being yourself and all that, but it doesn't beat you over the head with it. It's got heart without being sappy. The original songs are fun and add to the drag show vibe without being a drag on the action (couldn't resist).
Maxxie LaWow: Drag Super-shero is worth your time. Grab a beer, order a pizza, and give it a shot. You might be surprised.

We had a blast watching this film at the Roxie in San Francisco. It is an epic tale of a super hero drag queen featuring an amazing selection of drag stars as the voices. The story is an inspirational tale encouraging everyone to believe in themselves and celebrate our individual uniqueness. Along with the rest of the audience, my son (13) & I laughed through the whole movie at the clever campy drag humor. The animation is vivid and glamorous (a fabulous mix of Jem & the Holograms meets Power Puff Girls). For any drag queen fan families out there it's a must see! My son and I highly recommend!
