Well... the pilot is the worst episode till now, and we already get to see 4! So, if you're in doubt, don't see the reviews from people who just saw the 1st one, because it gets so much better, and by 4th episode I was already laughing hard with some moments, definitely the best till now and a great episode overall!

The pilot kind of gets the feeling of How I Met Your Mother, and I think it was intended that way, but the next episodes are definitely different and much better, and the feeling completely disappears. Another great thing is that the characters turns out much more likable and believable.

So, my recommendation is: please don't discard the series just because of the pilot, because that is the worst episode at all levels, and the others are so much better!

Ben Parr (Jason Biggs) falls for Kate Swanson (Sarah Chalke). It's a simple boy meets girl except they bring their best friends into the relationship.

I love Jason Biggs from his movie roles, and I love Sarah Chalke from Scrubs. So I understand why putting them together as a couple makes great TV sense. But for whatever reason, they just don't have enough chemistry together as a couple. They also have two of my favorite actors in Judy Greer and Tyler Labine as each person's best friends. Judy and Tyler have a love-hate relationship, and actually have more chemistry than the leads. The lead pairing is too bland but I like the under-card.

I absolutely love this show!!! It makes me laugh every time I watch it!! The pilot started off a little rusty but it's gained great momentum!! This show has been compared to How I Met Your Mother which is just wrong I love HIMYM and there is some similar feel to it but where would HIMYM be without Friends!! Every show takes tidbits from other shows it's just how things work! Where would Family Guy be without The Simpsons or the constant remakes of old TV shows it's the circle of life!! Okay I'm getting side tracked here....Mad Love is a light romantic comedy with some crude humour, which let's admit everyone loves!! It's a little obvious as to where the storyline is heading but the journey is still fun to watch!! It's also great to see actors we haven't seen in a while Jason Biggs(American Pie), Sarah Chalke (Rosanne, Scrubs), Judy Greer(Arrested Development, 13 Going on 30), and Tyler Labaine(Reaper, Breaker High). I'm hoping Mad Love will get picked up for another season but I do recommend a different time slot. I think airing right after HIMYM hinders peoples likability of the show, too judgemental! Out of all the shows that have premiered recently this one is by far the best!!!

I just finished watching the pilot of this series and i must say i found it entertaining. It certainly has a "How I Met your Mother" kinda feeling maybe a bit too much and some of the jokes were predictable, but at the end i found myself thinking that i would watch the next one if i had it right now. And that's what comedy shows should do. Entairtain you for 30 minutes. Since that's the case here, I'd say this shows meets my expectations.

I also happen to be a huge fan of Sarah Chalke and Judy Greer and I would love to see more of them in this show. Labine and Biggs are doing a good job as well and this quartet seems to have some chemistry. Looking forward for some more.

This is a great TV show. It is so funny, especially Munch! Perfect combination of characters, which really works perfect for each other. The different personalities, really make this show worth seeing. Basically all my friends in Denmark love this show, and i hope there will be many more episodes, even though i've heard that it doesn't look to good:( It is definitely a worthy competitor to How I Met Your Mother. I think this will be a great success. It probably will need some time to "blume", but it will definitely get there, if they proceed working on the TV show. Larry Munch, is a great personality, which is definitely the funniest in this show!

This is a watered-down version of HIMYM except the water is made of lame. Come on, I know exactly what type of episode it will be AND know what overused ending they'll go with just from the titles. I wanted to like this show. Judy Greer usually picks good projects. If she's being paid a large amount to be in this then she needs to tell us or we'll never forgive her. Sometimes the pauses for the laugh track are longer than the laughs. I don't know why they'd edit it like that but they do and the whole cast ends up holding their facial expressions for too long, and the American Pie guy can only do one expression: bewildered. It's the one he uses when Eugene Levy catches him impregnating a pie. I don't need to be reminded of Eugene Levy. This was going to be rated a 3 but while re-reading this, I'm now going 2.

I loved this series right at the beginning. My favorite stars, favorite songs - it was all perfect. I watched every episode with my girl beside me.

This show is fantastic. It's kinda cute too. The couple Ben and Kate are really adorable. The comedy is good too. Larry is a guy who is super-cool and fat too.

I recommend this show to those who like to watch romantic comedy stuff. I wonder why this show has an average rating of 6; it should have been 8 at the least.

Anyway, I'm waiting on an another season to release. I reckon it's not possible. This one season is all we've got, sadly.

Mad love follows the adventures of four friends in New York City. Two (Ben and Kate) are madly in love in love, and the other two (Larry and Connie) despise each other, at least initially. The show is your generic sitcom, and every episode goes pretty much how you would expect it to. But it is still a cute little show. Larry and Connie are the best part of the show. Their chemistry is great, and I love their little quips, their banter, and the sexual tension that is between them. There are only 13 30-minute episodes, so you can binge it all in a few days if you really want to.

Britany Snow also makes a guest appearance in one episode, and honestly, it's probably the worst episode of the show. Brittany Snow is my all-time favorite actor, but the episode kind of stinks. I wrote a more in-depth review on why I didn't think it worked on the episode's page if you are interested. Also, I didn't love the ending of season 1. I think they were trying to set up a second season. However, since that didn't work out, it just feels awkward. But overall, I did enjoy Mad Love. It's a little hidden gem, which deserves more credit than it got.

let me start by saying that it is hard to not be biased when watching this for the first time. all 4 protagonists actors have kind of made a name for themselves, each either as playing one particularly unforgettable character or always the very same kind of character. biggs as the pie guy, chalke as the unforgettable elliot in scrubs, labine as "the annoying friend that is always broke and hits on everything" in reaper and greer as "grumpy friend of protagonist" in like 30 different sitcoms.

well, here lies the main problem. all characters in this sitcom are halfbreeds of characters that the actors have already been known to have played.

biggs plays - the grownup version of his American pie character, just robbed of his soul and identity. i mean seriously, the dude that he plays here is so bland and boring that i would almost call him faceless. as a writer you just don't do that.

chalke plays - elliot from scrubs ... after one or two valium. they toned down the neurosii, but basically it is a carbon copy.

labine plays - you wouldn't guess it ... an annoying, broke protagonist that hits on everything. c'mon people, it is even the same beard and haircut as in reaper. same cheap clothes two, just like 10 years older.

greer plays - a grumpy, bland protagonist. well, look at the upside: at least she is a protagonist this time.

that alone is a catastrophe, but it could have been manageable with a good set, backgroundstory and good punchlines. didn't happen either. the material is overall weak, most of it is even old and weak.

i wish all 4 actors the best of luck in the future, especially chalke and greer as i absolutely adore their beauty and acting abilities, but until this will finally be cancelled, which can't take long, this should be considered as career coma.

I think this show is great. Funny, sarcastic, dippy, witty,and smart. Something for everyone! I recently heard it's going to be canceled :( That's really unfortunate. There's not a lot of good sitcoms out there these days. I do like 'Rules of Engagement', but find 'Mad Love' much funnier. I love it!! I think all the actors do a great job, and have great chemistry between couples and as friends. Jason Biggs is always good, and I think him and Sarah Chalke work great together as a TV couple, and I've always loved Judy Greer and think her and Tyler Labine are hilarious. I don't know where Tyler Labine came from but he's becoming one of my favorites (reminds me of my brothers actually). I thought the Pilot episode was good, and they've only gotten better. All in all, great show!!

...and I can't stand the show "How I Met Your Mother". To me there's no comparison!

The comedy of this show is literally all based off of sex jokes. Every advertisement i've seen for it here in the UK involves sex jokes, mostly courtesy of the character "Larry". Sex jokes are funny when done right and done subtly, like in FRIENDS for example, yet this show is just outright unfunny with its joke delivery. As far as any other aspect of it, the show is extremely generic. Like Extremely. We've seen the characters and the plot 100 times, nothing about this show is different or unique. over all, its not the worst show i have ever watched but sure comes close. Jason Biggs does put in a somewhat likable performance, yet it is not nearly his best. As for the other actors, they are also very generic, so generic in fact that i did not even bother to learn there names before writing this review. Thats how little i care for it

Mad Love is entertaining enough, but if you're looking for the next Friends, or even How I Met Your Mother, then you might be disappointed. The show really does seem to be HIMYM "Light", less characters but the characters have the same types of personalities. Also, I think most of the cast has appeared on HIMYM at some point in time.

I really didn't have any expectations for the show, especially considering that I only made it through 2 minutes of the awful Traffic Lights on Fox. But about 3 minutes into Mad Love, I found myself chuckling a few times and before I knew it, the show was over and I had laughed quite a bit. Jason Biggs and Sarah Chalke are the stars of the show and are good, not great, but I was more impressed with the chemistry between Judy Greer and Tyler Labine. I'm a huge fan of Greer and liked Labine on Reaper, but he got stuck on that awful Sons of Tucson(what's with Fox and their awful shows?), so I'm happy to see he got a gig that might lead to something.

Who knows if this show will make it, but as I said in the headline, its better than Rules of Engagement, so much better, so I hope it does replace it for good.

Pretty funny, better than " How I met your mother", 12 April 2011 I really enjoy the tension between the two friends who despise each other. Some pretty funny stuff, it does seem to get better with each episode. For the record I can not stand " How I met your mother" Specifically, The annoying blond hair guy. The rest of it is OK.

Mad Love, funny.

I liked the cop guy, he grew on you. very sarcastic and dry wit.

As good as most shows on TV . Does not take it self too seriously, unlike the obnoxious guy on How I met your mom.

This show sucked.

CBS really struck out with this and "S&^% My Dad Says, both airing in the same season. The difference between the two shows, is that "S&^% My Dad Says" actually had potential. But it was executed horribly. Mad Love had no hope from the beginning.

It was nothing more than the often-used Friends/Seinfeld formula. It was an unfunny clone of better sitcoms. Well okay, if it's still funny, should that matter? No, but the show failed at that as well. It gave absolutely no reason whatsoever to watch it.

I gave this a few chances. It failed to hit. I seriously don't remember laughing more than twice total. Not for each episode, but rather total. It would have been forgivable that the show was unoriginal had it at least been funny. BUT IT JUST WAS NOT AT ALL. I saw it coming a mile away, and it failed to be interesting, unique, or funny. You've seen this show many times before, and you definitely liked it better then.

This could really have become something. I wish we had gotten at least a bit more of a wrap up but I guess its hard to know with first seasons if they will fly or die. Loved this so much and want more.

Just watched the pilot Seriously needs work, which is disappointing because I love Tyler Libane(?) and miss "Sons of Tucson" Actors definitely need to build a rapport.. a very awkward feeling watching them do their parts(and the script isn't good to start with)

However, the WORST part is the audience laughter(i don't know what you call it). It's very annoying and deteriorates what little amusement is presented. It doesn't even sound like recorded laughter that makes you want to laugh. Instead it sounds like forced laughter that is prompted.

As is, worth a watch if nothing else to do, but definitely needs improvement

I had such high hopes for this show- I have enjoyed the stars in so many films, TV shows and and made for TV films I thought this couldn't miss. But miss it does. The situations in this so-called situation comedy are trite, contrived, boring, unfunny- and the laugh track, oh the laugh track is insult to injury! This show could be a very awful American re-make of the terrific British comedy "Gavin and Stacy" (in Gavin and Stacy the best friends of a loving couple hate each other at first sight, they get plastered one night and wind up having sex, the girl turns up pregnant, the girl stays pregnant, the girl and the baby daddy still hate each other throughout the pregnancy, they go on hating each other up until and after the baby is born- BUT the rest of their lives and the lives of the loving couple are interesting and funny). I guess there is still some hope for "Mad Love", maybe the writers will sneak a peak at Gavin and Stacy and take notes.

I'll be completely honest. I've seen abut 10 episodes of this show, and that's 300 minutes of my life that I will NEVER get back. First off, the thing that makes me hate this show the most is the acting. The performance given by Jason Biggs is absolutely TERRIBLE. I loved him in American Pie, but honestly, he should've quit after that. However, I love the performances by Tyler Labine and Judy Greer. Tyler reminds me of certain aspects of myself, and Judy reminds me of a person close to me. Sarah Chalke does NOT fit in ANYWHERE in this show. I always forget that she's even in the show! The second: clichés. The whole story about 2 people who meet and their friends can't get along, is complete and utter bullshit. Please excuse my language, but it seems like I've seen this more than a million times. If you want a good show to watch that will actually give you a laugh, I recommend The Colbert Report, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, The Daily Show, or hell watch some Looney Tunes cartoons.

It's been a long, long time since I've seen such a... well, there's no other word to say this: bad pilot on CBS. Full of "jokes" that have been heard and seen hundreds of times in various sitcoms in the past 20 or so years, boring sets, vague script, bland, and painfully unskilled actors (except for Biggs and Greer): I smell disaster. I'm not a fan of Sarah Chalke, to put it mildly... but that's not the reason why I was so disappointed with this pilot. Oddly enough, I will keep watching, because I love both Judy Greer and Rachel Boston very much, but frankly, I can't think of any other appeal for this show, than these two redheaded hotties.

At least that counts for something.

Zero stars is not an opinion, so I'm giving one.

The good: I think Larry's (Labine) comebacks are hilarious - he definitely made me laugh out loud more than once. The actors all do a good job delivering their lines.

The bad: I want to like Ben and Kate because they have their endearing moments, but they're so predictable and perfect that I don't care about them. And I can't bring myself to care about the rest of the show if the two main characters are dead to me. I've always found the cranky best friend (Connie) an irritating character type.

Comments on other reviews: -Some of the reviews said 'Don't judge a show off of the pilot', so I watched 3 episodes. I did grow to like the characters more than I expected in the pilot, but ultimately the show failed to keep my interest. -The show blatantly copies HIMYM to the point that it was distracting and made me angry. Again, 'takes bits from' or 'has the feeling of' HIMYM is a HUGE understatement. -I haven't really noticed the laugh track thing that other reviewers are complaining about. I even specifically looked for it.

Take Home Message: It has the same effect as a sequel to a hit movie (i.e. Ms. Congeniality vs. Ms. Congeniality 2). The hopeful anticipation, the disappointment after you realize it pales in comparison to the original, and irritation of why you even bothered to watch it.

If you haven't seen How I Met Your Mother or Gavin & Stacy, and enjoy sitcoms about dating, then you might like this show.
