The Extraordinary Tale of William Buckley

I was excited about this as a family movie, a tale of adventure, etc. But, several times they talk about very violent concepts, e.g. The native people fighting, killing, smearing mutilated bodies on kids, cutting off limbs of people and roasting their flesh, etc. It's not safe for young kids. It doesn't show this happening, but it does show fight scenes where people get speared and clubbed, and explains in detail what happened to survivors of losing tribes, which could be awful.

I have no idea how they got what seem to be native peoples, to act on film. The reenactments are some of the best I've ever seen. I hope that I never have to direct something like this.

Excellent story and reenactment at its best.

I hadnt heard this story with this much detail before, telling his life living with the Wathaurong Aboriginal with great details. I wonder why in the tell of his story they dont speak as much about how much of the Wathaurong culture her learnt.

Great to see more Aboriginal stories being told and how realistic the recreation of pre settlement Victoria and the Wathaurong Aboriginal culture was.

I enjoyed watching this film and felt I better understand Australia History even thou this is one small moment in a very complex histroy of Aboriginal australia and invasion/ settlement by the brittish.

I had to watch this in school and i was very bored the whole time.
