The last name of Narda in the series is Custodio is the mother of the famous Filipino comic writer Mars Ravelo which became an for the creation Darna. Custodio means Guardian Angel in Spanish and Portuguese. It is also from a religious byname chosen to invoke the protection of a guardian angel.
Iza Calzado finally took the Darna role after 17 years since auditioning for Darna (2005). She failed to take the role in 2005 due to a weight loss requirement for the costume.
This will be the first series to be filmed in the ABS-CBN Soundstage.
