Avis à la une
Forget that 2010 live-action abomination that ruined one of the greatest comic book antiheroes. I want to see Thomas Jane as Jonah Hex in DCEU, he's born to play that role.
Jonah Hex has never been on my radar, when the live action film appeared I didn't even know it was DC until I watched it and alike most viewers I was far from impressed.
These little DC Showcase shorts are great for introducing people to new characters/ones they aren't familiar with and this is a great concept.
This runs for slightly over ten minutes and manages to tell a story. It's about Jonah rolling into town seeking his bounty but upon learning he's dead he sets about getting revenge on the brothel madam responsible.
This was enjoyable, this was on another level than the live action movie.
The creators of this need to be handed a budget and allowed to make a feature length movie because based on this it could be really good.
The Good:
Well written
Beautifully animated
Original plot
Great voice cast
The Bad:
Still not keen on the character
Things I Learnt From This Short:
Michael Rooker needs to do more voice work

Jonah Hex makes an appearance in the DC Showcase, of course he does. Justice was served to the bounty hunter, with a relatively simple story that is quite entertaining and definitely worth a chance. Reflecting his skills and his characteristic way of solving problems.
Once again, Joaquim Dos Santos showcased the affection and excellent work of great figures from the publishing house, as well as their immense potential for incredible stories and productions. Without a doubt, the director knows what he is doing and does it in the best way.
The short film has a musical score that is highly connected and focused on what it aims to convey, aligning perfectly with the action scenes and moments of appreciation for the character. The animation is decent, very similar to its predecessor, and it maintains that great fluidity of movement. Here, the tone undergoes a significant change due to the time in which the events take place, fully connecting with the audience, as well as differentiating key environments and characters.
Thomas Jane did a great job with his voice acting, successfully capturing his portrayal of Jonah Hex. On the other hand, actress Linda Hamilton (Madame Lorraine) surprises with every dialogue, bringing that sensual tone which fits perfectly.
The focus on deception, death, vandalism, prostitution, settled accounts, legacy, persecution, and punishment was executed excellently.
Jonah Hex is a rather interesting anti-hero who could add a lot of entertaining stories or adventures, but the publisher has not exploited his potential. In this short film, the quality it possesses was made very clear.
6.5/10.

Jonah Hex (2010) serves as the concluding entry in the DC Showcase films on the DVD "Superman/Shazam: The Return of Black Adam." The narrative follows the legendary bounty hunter as he pursues his next target, with complications arising when a female with her own motives enters the scene.
Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos (known for Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse), the movie boasts the voices of Thomas Jane (The Mist), Linda Hamilton (The Terminator), Michael Rooker (Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer) and Jason Marsden (Goofy Movie).
The casting is impeccable, with voices perfectly suited to their characters. The movie exudes a delightful Western atmosphere, enhanced by over-the-top action scenes and shootouts. The dialogue is cleverly crafted, contributing to a fun storyline. The film's quality makes it regrettable that it wasn't a full-length feature. I would give it an 8/10 and strongly recommend it.

The one of the best showcase Dc ever had. A very nice plot with a great ending with a great character. Loved it.
