These women are wearing cocktail dresses to meet with clients. It's looks like they are going to a party. It's very glamorous. I don't see much of Brett. Jason seems to make more of an appearance. The water isn't that blue in Laguna Beach. I've been there. The cinematographer must have used a filter. Overall, the show has drama and a lot of it seems rehearsed. I like the scenery and the homes. I wouldn't buy in California. It's expensive and a lot of these homes will be affected by Climate Change. I gave this show a higher rating because I believe reality shows are comedy and I get a good laugh. I'm looking forward to the next season.

Just finished watching Selling the OC. Jarvis & Rose are Queens. The rest are jealous. Alex Hall is very problematic. Polly is annoying and unnecessarily loud. Kayla needs to stop crying & sell property. Brandi is sheep. The others are extras.
This is the most accurate description of the show I caught on Twitter and thought this would make the perfect review.
I found the drama to be more engaging than the Sunset series of the show. Probably totally produced, but still engaging. The Kayla storyline is also super interesting because Tyler just broke up with actress Brittany Snow so it seems interesting about why that is.

What is the purpose of this show? Watching toxic people argue ... with occasional clips of luxury real estate?
"Selling Sunset" is kind of a guilty pleasure, so I watched this show hoping it would be a similar experience. It wasn't. The show is too focused on the petty squabbles of a handful of immature young agents. Many of them are new to selling real estate in OC.
Orange County also doesn't have world-famous iconic locations and celebrity-connections like Los Angeles. So the homes don't have that extra flair that homes in "Selling Sunset" or "Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles" do.
The show can still work - but the people have to be more interesting and there needs to more of the high-stakes nature of the biz: getting these coveted listings, negotiating high-dollar deals and all the wild / crazy problems that come up at the last minute.
But that's not what they've done. So for now, if you like watching human train-wrecks slug it out, this is your show. Given all the poor reviews I've seen, I hope the producers don't think everyone who watched season 1 will show up for season 2. This show needs some re-tooling.
The rating is > 1 for the real stars - the beautiful homes in OC.

Anyone complaining about the "annoying drama" and "lifestyle porn" with the huge houses and expensive outfits clearly doesn't understand that THAT'S THE POINT!!!!!!!!
This is entertaining and easy to watch- exactly why I turn it on. The gorgeous homes don't hurt either.
It's not quite as good as sunset, but it's much better than Selling Tampa was. On Selling Tampa it felt like the drama was truly forced and that they just jumped into situations you knew nothing about. Selling the OC gives off the same vibes as the original Selling Sunset, just a different cast and slightly different location.

Wow! This show is pathetic! Alex Hall and Polly have to be the most hypocritical women on the planet! There is NO WAY this show is any form of reality! Hired actors that never sold real estate yet they sell million dollar homes right away! I say wipe the slate, keep Alex Jarvis, Alex Rose and Tyler develop a new show around those three. They are the only remotely likeable ones. If not, at least write a new script where these women are not demeaning, back stabbing and gas lighting each other in every scene. It's so annoyingly gross and unwatchable! Glamorizing this kind of unrelenting bullying in the work place is pathetic. If the Oppenheimer Group is real I can't imagine someone hiring these women. Let's be real if you're selling a 10,000,000 house you care how your agent representing you. Having full blown arguments with co-workers in your living room would not be tolerated. Don't waste your time watching unless watching women demoralize each other is your thing. I stopped watching after episode 2.
It's amazing how unlikeable everybody in that show is. In Selling Sunset you had a variety of personalities, from some cringey pot-stirrers, to enjoyable and positive characters. It was a pleasure to bing watch it during covid, but it contained definitely too little drama at first. However in the OC spin-off, everyone is evil or mean and most of them come out as villains od the show. Drama is present since the very first minutes. Which is amazing. That's exactly what we need, and I'm asking for a season 2 ASAP. And for the people who are complaining that there is TOO MUCH DRAMA I recommend switching to Zillow instead of a reality TV.

Most of the cast is very negative and intense. I am not sure how anyone sells houses with all of the toxicity. It's awful and extreme. Terrible cast members made the most of the show and it wasn't really about the houses or anything positive. The people naming bullies are the bullies and the way Alex Hall and Polly speak to people is beyond disgusting I am not sure why anyone allows them to have a televised job. There is tv drama and there are toxic people. This is next level and they are really abusive towards other cast members. I wish someone would do something to not allow such behavior while filming or be put out into the world. I was looking forward to this after selling sunset....this shouldn't be renewed it was hard to watch such angry and hostile people treat others with such abuse and not be asked to stop by anyone who could stop it.

Alex Hall and Polly make it impossible to watch more than half an episode at a time unless you fast forward while they're on screen. The mean girl energy all for the sake of attention is despicable. I like real estate so I had hopes that there would be actual real estate in this show, at least on the level of "Selling Sunset" which granted, isn't much. But it's almost non existent here.
The hypocrisy starts with the title. They aren't selling anything except themselves and badly at that.
The fact that the main focus is on the two most toxic people rather than anyone or anything else tells you all you need to know about it.
Don't waste your time on this one.

I started watching this out of boredom the day before I am to go back to teaching for the new school year. I've binged watched the entire season now and feel like I might've warmed up a spot in hell for myself. This was the most hideous portrayal of human existence, and I pray to God that it is totally fictional and scripted because otherwise there's no help for humanity. I am stage four cancer patient and I cannot believe I just wasted so much of my life when I don't know how much I've got left on this trash. I think the owner of Netflix should personally reach out to me and extend an apology, as well as offer financial damages for the trauma I've endured being exposed to such a grotesque view of human nature. These people break every moral code in 30 minute episodes That feel like a woodpecker incessantly pecking at your spinal column. If these people are real, I really have to wonder how I am the one suffering a potentially lethal disease? How is it that people like this can benefit and thrive not just in spite of, But because of such horrific behavior? Shame on everyone who had anything to do with putting this project together! Shame on me for watching it! I can only hope that my review will spare someone else the unnecessary exposure to such a glorified bullying, sleaze-dripping excrement!
Brilliant mind-numbing telly. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing and binge watched it in 2 days
Just wish there were more episodes! It's ridiculous, silly and just what the doctor ordered after a long stressful week.
Enjoyed it more than selling sunset the people were cooler and prettier and the scenery nicer.
Loved Polly she was fabulous.
Those 2 evil alex characters were hilarious they reminded me of the evil twins in breaking bad 😂
...not sure of Jason's vibe in this series he seemed quite disinterested and bored of the formula but I guess that makes sense ha.
More episodes please! 🙏 I would definitely love to see another longer series!

These shallow people claiming to represent Newport Beach are just transplants trying to change it to fit their own vanity. I couldn't afford to live where I grew up, so I had to move away from my friends and family. Am I bitter? Yup. Now these people get a show glamorizing their form of gentrification.
Please stop giving people like this shows? I would love to see the realities of the hustle of actual real estate agents. That would be interesting. Not a show of people getting in and out of their Ferrari's.
Why do reviews need to contain 600 characters? I ran out of things to talk about in this shallow show.

Spot on review, I can't believe that the Oppenheim Group allow their name to be associated with women who are bullies and supposedly work in their brokerage, for shame on you Brett and Jason...

Forget location, location, location here. The producers just leap into the drama without a single iota about the characters. The short gal with the giant lips needs to learn how to keep them together (and never, ever wear red on them again)! Right off the bat she yanks some gal into confrontation. Like I said, boring, boring, boring. We don't know who anybody is so how can we feel anything for anyone?! And Gio (?) professing his absolute love for a so-so property after the one shown in the beginning of episode 1. It was just so fake. The properties all look the same anymore. No character! I'd rather be middle-class with brains and a homey, warm home than rich with a fake face as well as personality-neither of which can move (hint, hint, Gio's mother). Good gawd her plastic surgeon should be fired for what he did to her face! She looks like a blow-up sex doll on crack! Imagine a woman in her 60s trying to look like a woman in her 20s. Just... ick. I'm really disgusted with Brett and Jason for exploiting Selling Sunset. Shame on them. Don't bother, folks. These people are not educated, the properties are all the same save for that first one and it shows.
Awful and a really bad look for the O group. It's more about watching a bunch of grown women bully two others in the office. Polly, Alex Hall, Tyler and Brandi, are coming across as awful people. This show is more about how to isolate and team up against other women then selling real estate. Alex Hall and Polly need to be cancelled they are childish and remind me of little girls who would bully at school. I was looking forward to watching this as love selling sunsets but its such an uncomfortable watch. Don't waste your time.
It's impressive how successful The O group has become but this show isn't a good look for them. It's moved to more drama and maybe they wanted that but takes away the professionalism from the actual role they all play.

This show is a pure waste of time. Nothing of any value. WORST CAST EVER. Nothing but trash talking, gossip and UGLINESS. It's absolutely disgusting. Shame on you, Jason for putting this out into the world. FIRE these cast members and get yourself some actual agents with some CLASS. And make a show worth watching. Cause this is gross. Who wants to sit and watch a show with no heart, no plot, nothing worth watching. We have enough problems in the world with sitting and watching 30 mins of immature woman lash out and gossip nonstop about each other. It's appalling. They want me to write 600 characters about this show but that isn't humanly possible considering there aren't 600 characters of value in this show.
Normally I like guilty pleasures like this, but this one is terrible. How did I make it to episode 8 at all? And how can you promote your business with a bunch of arrogant, fake, mean and stupid drama queens? Shame on you, bullying is so glorified! Selling sunset is then 10 times more manageable. Normally I don't type reviews, but now i just have to. I've had to deal with a lot of mean people throughout my life; i don't have the urge to watch them on my screen as well. Come on!
Especially Alexandra Hall and Polly Brindle, you two have such an ugly character and were beyond annoying.
Does the Oppenheim group actually exist?

I didn't see much connection between the Oppenheim twins and the cast, like there is in Selling Sunset. Right away the show opens with an overt display of narcissism from Gio. Lots of petty drama happens during the first episode...we have no background or any connection to any of the cast. It's not relatable or inviting like Selling Sunset. We've come to know the characters over time. We know their stories and vulnerabilities, their strengths and weaknesses. With OC, we're in the dark. Maybe it'll change and get better over time but it's definitely not off to a good start.
