Revamped porn with many inserts

I was surprised to find the familiar porn film of the '60s INVITATION TO RUIN in a 1975 revamped hardcore version -titled THE INVITATION in a separate IMDb entry, notable for the convincing integration of the added footage. If you have the slightest interest in this junker, it is worth seeking out the "new, not so improved" edition.

Many famous faces (and bodies) appear in the new footage, notably Joan Devlon wearing many rings including her trademark jade one on her index finger. Her footage in a 3-way scene suspiciously resembles her brief appearance in SATISFACTION GUARANTEED.

Running 79 minutes, compared to original's 71, film retains its hardboiled storyline, gross-out torture motifs and generally sordid atmosphere. But the hardcore material provides the target viewer with at least the usual accoutrements of masturbation-inducing material.

It is buried on a megaset of '70s porn issued on DVD by Alpha Blue Archives and worth seeking out as such. For the dirtier version, the writer/producer/director credit is given to one "Trygge Rone", actually film's actor Jim Gentry, while the original helmer was Kurt Richter.
