I can't say for sure wether I fully enjoyed watching this movie or not, but it was definitely an interesting take on a story we all were taught and enjoyed as children.
While it does not claim to be an accurate depiction, I have to admire the sets, actors and dialogues that were brilliantly delivered by an impressive cohort of Egyptian stars.
It's not an easy task to put together epic Roman themed scenes such as the ones in this film but Ghadah Adel and Khaled Nabawy were definitely up to the task.
It is slightly funny that I am watching this after watching Gladiator 2 and 1 but I am very happy to see an Arabic production contributing to preserving and narrating such an inspiring story.

Growing up this story has always been inspiring to me and seeing it on screen felt like witnessing it with my own eyes.
Maybe the storyline wasn't the best but I'd have to give credits to a lot of other elements that played a stronger role in creating this masterpiece, from the good choice of actors, epic war scenes, and amazing soundtracks.
I'm so proud that Arabic cinema is spiting light in such movies and I'd love to see more of what's cooking.

This film was disappointing in every aspect. The characters are unbalanced, and the events lack depth and credibility. Compared to the Iranian series that tackled the same story, this film is nowhere near its quality or craftsmanship; it feels like a dull and weak imitation of the original work. The direction is poor, and the plot is shallow, making it a clear example of the decline of Arab cinema in recent years, as it has become devoid of creativity and the ability to produce works that compete with global productions. The cinematography fails to add any visual appeal, and the dialogue feels forced and uninspired. Even the performances lack conviction, as if the actors themselves were not fully invested in their roles. Instead of delivering a compelling narrative, the film relies on clichés and predictable storytelling. It's unfortunate to see such potential wasted on a production that neither respects its source material nor offers anything new to the audience.
