Avis à la une
The first half of the movie felt like twice as long as the movie really was, but there was something that I couldn't just put away. Second half was more intense and I had to put things away from my hands that I could focus better.
Add +1 to score from each you like: Slow life like storytelling; Sappy love-story; Humanity issues.

So here's the deal: I know the film maker. I decided to watch his film to get a glimpse into his art. As with all art, this effort comes from within. He made "something from nothing." In my mind, this is the essence of being fully human. Creating something from nothing. All art is worthy.
Now, turning to the film, I happen to have an appreciation for the budgetary constraints here. The question for me is: how good is the result relative to the constraints? (Think of water world, huge budget, lousy outcome considering this). So for Simple Creature I think very good. It is an interesting story told primarily with dialogue, implication, and inference. It's a "head space" film. If you're not cerebral or primarily an adrenaline junkie (think John Wick) then you won't like this film. If you are thoughtful, like dialogue, and are appreciative of competent filming technique and story telling, then you will enjoy this. Well done in my book, especially given to budgetary constraints.

Simple Creature is a very interesting story about a young woman who finds love, gets into a bus accident & then things get weird. Everything, after that happens, is spoilers. So much takes place, some really wicked things, some really sad things & some WTF moments. This is well worth your time to sit and watch.
This movie is awful. It really is a terrible film. There is no story to tell. The acting is so bad. It's a B movie, a TV movie. You're just wasting your time. There is nothing to see in this movie. It's just terrible. Wish I had that hour and a half of my life back. I almost fell asleep. Terrible, just terrible.
