Out of all the 90210 alum, I think Jason Priestley really went out of his way to play the opposite of his 90210 character. Nothing could be farther from his Brandon Walsh character than his portrayal of Fitz Fitzpatrick, a boozing, womanizer who has the morals of a used car salesman, which he is.
I have to say the entire cast is amazing and the first season was really funny. I binge watched it and thought it was fantastic and outrageous.
The problem with a show that's an over the top representation of such an amoral protagonist is that after the first season, it has to top the craziness, which you can tell by the second season is going to be hard. It's still good, but not quite as good.
By the time the third season rolls around you can tell quite obviously that they are pushing so hard to get as far out there as possible that it feels like you're watching different characters than you've seen the past two seasons.
That push comes at the expense of all the things that made the first season amazing and hooked you.
I had a hard time finishing the third season and only did so with the determination that I would finish the series. It's the ultimate example of the law of diminishing returns.
Jason Priestley is brilliant as Fitz and he's obviously the stand out.
I recommend you watch the first two seasons and skip the third. It'll preserve the characters you've grown to like, because you will not like the situations and directions season three goes in.
Meatloaf said it best, "two out of three ain't bad."

This has to be one of the best written, best acted, best produced and best directed shows on TV today!Chock full of raunchy adult humor,over-the-top,and offbeat characters.A totally unique show concept!I can't get enough of the handsome,ultra-talented Jason Priestley as the morally-challenged Fitz, played against the amazing Ernie Grunwald his "do right", out-of-body-conscience,Larry.The whole show is smartly written, brilliantly acted and a joy to watch! I am also proud to say that the Fitzgerald Car Sales Lot is located near my home and my brother-in-law,Geof,had the awesome opportunity to "strut his stuff" on the dance floor as an extra in Episode 6. I met Jason a few years back while he was in Chester filming a movie. He came to Lunenburg to do an interview on Good Morning America, which was doing a live show there, and I was privileged to be his umbrella holder during his interview with, then host,Joan Lunden,as it was pouring rain LOL "Call Me Fitz"is the cats' ass! Can't wait for the next episode!
I watched one episode (Mayor Andrews - because of Joe Flaherty) I enjoyed it but didn't get the whole story. Decided to start at the beginning. OMG!!!! What a fabulous, odd, bizarre and entertaining show. Recommend it highly as long as you are open minded - sexy (not sex) stuff, language and situations. You know adult not child stuff. I can't tell you how funny and odd it is. Joe Flaherty put it best - he was scheduled to guest star. He couldn't believe it was airing - couldn't believe the writer / creator could come up with such stuff. I'm glad she did! One of my favorite shows and never knew anything about Jason Priestly before this show . Love it!
Call me Fitz has been successful in pleasing me in every episode. I found the first couple episodes to be mildly slow, but very humorous. The real treat starts when you start to get to know the characters and how they act, the directors and the actors themselves do an amazing job in character development.
I'm currently following the 3rd season, and I can say without a reasonable doubt, that it is by far the best season yet. I can't wait for season 4! |
Check the show out! Crude adult humour! Genuine!

Wonderful show! Great writing and love it!!! Larry is a bit annoying yet hopefully he dies soon. Jason plays a great role and the profanity is perfect. Nothing less than masterpiece in my mind. I hope it runs for a while as I hope it works out for everyone. Not enough skin in the show if any yet what do you expect. keep up the great work Jason. What more can I say I love the receptionist and Fitz ring a ding ding is great. Love the old school lines and all the other one liners. Larry's names by Fitz are classic and he deserves everything he gets from Fitz. The other guys across the street are hilarious. How much tail can Fitz get who knows yet I wish I could get a fraction of it ha ha ha ha...
