As an American History Teacher I love this podcast but wish that there was an American version! I do want to say that on the Maxwell one you reference a Lake Yellowstone which does not exist. Montana has the largest natural fresh water lake west of the Mississippi and it is next to Glacier National Park not Yellowstone National Park and is called Flathead Lake after the Native American tribe that used to live there. These places are gorgeous. I live next to Flathead Lake and we have the 2nd highest housing market in the US now. (Early 2024)!

I love the banter between Alice and Matte. Welcome back Matte, you were missed!

Great podcast series. As a foreigner living in the UK I find it really entertaining. It acts like a window to the British society and it is very informative. The two narrators are doing an excellent job and the chemistry is simply brilliant. Keep up the good work!

Each story is divided into multiple episodes (3-4) and it is called a "season". The last episode usually has a guest that either lived the events or is connected in some way.

I agree with one of the other reviewers here that claimed that Levine is somewhat too eager to blame men and absolve women. I feel it is a fair assessment but it is done in a very mild way that does not affect the overall amazing job she's doing.

Keep them episodes coming please!

The content here is largely captivating, especially if you're British and are dimly aware of many of these scandals. The use of dramatisations, while potentially taking a degree of artistic liberty make the stories involved much easier to digest. Both hosts are skilled narrators and are immersive in their impressions, pacing and overall delivery.

Technically, the podcast is well-edited, written and produced, for the most part.

Unfortunately the dynamic between the two hosts is almost unlistenably awkward and forced.

Levine's constant misandry, whilst arguably justified in a show which so often centres around male hubris, is ceaseless. I don't think listeners necessarily want to be told precisely which opinions to form about the characters in a story, especially when every one expressed here can be boiled down to the male protagonist being a chauvinistic manipulator, and the female counterpart being simultaneously a powerless waif when the scandal is taking place, and then a principled moralist when the reckoning comes.

This podcast could be markedly improved by removing whichever host is not narrating. The interim segments drag what could be a 9/10 down to at best a 6, in my view, though I understand the need for padding as well as the opinions stated given the demographics of Wondery's listeners.

I am plowing through every single podcast of British Scandals. I'm so thoroughly entertained by Matt and Alice. Love their endless sharp wit.

The stories that they cover are really intriguing on their own but the banter of the hosts makes British Scandals a pure listening pleasure. They never glide over important details and keep their story telling tightly cohesive. I listen to similar type podcasts from the U. S. and too often there are many unresolved questions due to, perhaps poor research. My ears were made in America so at times I struggle with Alice and Matt's accents but their podcasts are worth a few hits of "replay". Keep up the great work.
