Danger Island

Though this story has interesting and humorous twists of turns. The real star in this series is the native Chongo, who saves this group of archeologists, pursued by modern-day pirates in the South Pacific.

Richard Donner started to display his brand of storytelling, way before Superman or Lethal Weapon.

Jan-Michael Vincent did display some talent before his "White Line Fever" days...

The Banana Splits Show had this flick in all its shows.... 5 minutes of 'Danger Island' every episode (that made it a 2 hour, 10 minute movie!).

Rockne Tarkington was the big handsome black guy, Jan(-Micheal) Vincent was the young boy, and Ronne Troup was the cute chick -- who NEVER took off her top! What's up with that?

This movie was shown in 10-minute increments on the Banana Splits (series) starting in 1968. I only saw a handful of clips & hardly remember after 50 years

I was born in 1966 & am guessing I watched sometime 1973-1975; unsure, cannot quite place in memory & events. I kinda think this was weekly daytime, but originally on Sat morn.

By chance, I came across the whole movie (3 parts) on YT & downloaded. I watched the whole thing, but only half paid attention, while looking at stuff on my 2nd & much larger screen (bored easily, ADD, haha).

The reruns ran until 1982. So, I'm guessing that those born from about 1958 to 1976 would've watched some Banana Splits & seen this. I only recommend to adults who saw it in their youth, or to current kids. It's silly, goofy & a little funny funny, besides being adventurous.
