Avis à la une
This is a good thriller film, which managed to keep the suspense till the end. Great performances from Radhika mam and Vikrant sir. Surprising and great performance from Prachi Desai mam.
'Forensic' is a whodunnit psychological crime thriller that unravels the identity of a serial killer with the aid of the forensic division. The plot centers on a string of kidnappings that take place in Mussoorie and the investigation officer and the forensic department's efforts to solve the case. The movie introduces the concept of children committing serial murders by using the case of Amarjeet Sada, who is known all over the world as "India's youngest serial killer". It also sheds light on the psychological factors and early trauma that contribute to the development of serial killers and psychopaths.
Director Vishal Furia's remake of the Malayalam movie of the same name that starred Tovino Thomas and Mamta Mohandas in the lead roles. After retaining some of the original story's elements, this Hindi remake includes a number of unexpected twists that create a completely unique experience. And even if you've seen the original, it wouldn't be incorrect to say that everyone will still enjoy a heart-pounding experience thanks to the fast-paced screenplay written by Vishal Kapoor, Ajit Shashikant Jagtap, and Adhir Bhatt. A whodunnit crime thriller requires a gloomy aesthetic, which the film has in spades.
It begins with the tragic tale of an eight-year-old boy whose violent father preferred his daughter over him. As a result of this, the boy became a dangerous and vengeful individual. The next sequence shows the girls going missing on their birthdays, followed by Megha Sharma, the investigating officer, searching for the victim. When they discovered that these innocent girls were being murdered, they enlisted the help of forensic expert Johnny Khanna to find the perpetrator.
Right from the beginning, the intense atmosphere and dark tone sets up the mood of the film. The dramatic twists and turns of the story, which are required for these genres, as well as the fact that it is unpredictable from the beginning, make it the most intriguing aspect. Many crime thrillers in Hindi cinema, such as Drishyam and others, have shown cops failing to find the culprit; however, this film demonstrates the prowess of police and other departments in attempting to solve crimes. The film depicts in great detail how forensic investigators examine crime scenes for evidence, such as blood, fluid, fingerprints, or residue, in order to determine how a crime occurred.
Forensic features Radhika and Vikrant in prominent roles. Vikrant Massey plays a convincing forensic expert who is meticulous in gathering crime-related evidence and making it appear authentic to viewers. He has some funny one-liners and his 'Johnny Johnny' riddle began as a clever trick before becoming a running gag. Radhika Apte instantly makes you root for Megha, ably depicting an honest officer who wants to crack the case and save the victims. Despite Vikrant and Radhika's characters' romantic past, both of them make a great team together. Dr. Ranjana, played by Prachi Desai, is a pivotal character in the story. She is convincing as a child psychiatrist.
Another highlight is the setting of a small town and the naturally beautiful shots of the mountains and the woods. Backed by superb performances and strong writing, 'Forensic' is an engaging edge-of-the-seat crime thriller.

I watched the original Malayalam movie a few months ago and was really impressed. The hindi version is good too even better if you haven't watched the original. The writers have also tweaked the storyline. Radhika was brilliant for the role; can't believe we see so less of her. Vikrant Massey could've done a better job as the easy going yet genius role of the forensic expert. Vindu Dara Singh was a waste and Prachi Desai was decent in her limited role.
Talking about the negatives, there are quite a few moments where the movie loses its grip and you'll be yawning. The screenplay could've been tighter and the unnecessary drama which had no relation to the story should've been avoided. The eerie backdrop of Mussoorie was perfect for the movie but the BGM sadly doesn't match with it.
It is still a decent watch, do give it a shot if you have nothing to do this weekend.

The storyline of this movie is just amazing, and the acting is also good. However, the story could be more batter. They did a very good work in acting. Overall, I really enjoyed a lot.
I've not seen the "original" movie so this is a all together new film for me and I liked it.
The plot is simple. A female police investigator works with a forensic specialist/old flame to solve a series of murders in which, young girls are killed on their birthdays.
I thought this had a decent story that moved at a steady pace and kept a suspenseful atmosphere. I've read where other reviewers believe this to be a bad copy of the original so if I liked this, maybe I'll look the other one up and see how it compares. I liked it though and I wouldn't mind recommending it for those who like crime dramas or thrillers.

- AnecdotesNarendra Gupta who use to play character of Dr. R. P. Salunkhe in well know TV series CID has played role of top most forensic expert Dr. Solanki in the film.
- GaffesWhen Johny visits the house where crimes have taken place he only has a backpack. But during the whole visit he manages to change to hazmat suit, use Laser Scanner to scan the house, use tripod stand for the scanner, use laptop to view and process scanning data and use suitcase with forensic toolkit to collect evidence. It would be impossible fit all these things in backpack of such size.
