Avis à la une
Super movie for the Christian athlete to sink his teeth into. 2 adopted boys play basketball for there father who is also the coach. The star player leaves the team to play for a larger school with more scouts from colleges and press coverage. He starts partying and gets expelled. He runs away from home but is found by his parents and helps lead the team to state championship over his former team. Great story is narrated partially by one of the coaches. Enjoy it like I did.
"It's a blessing, God want's this." A high school basketball coach (Waters) on the hot seat tries to get his son to be a team player. When he thinks he is better then the small town team he leaves to play in the big city. When life comes at him he must make a choice. I will begin by saying, not to start an argument, my biggest problem with the Christian movie genre is that nothing ever seems to go wrong. While this movie had much more problems happening to the main characters then usual this is still unrealistic and very predictable. This is much better then the last few Christian movies that I have seen but I haven't seen the "Grace Card" yet. While this did have more obstacles to over come then "Facing The Giants" I would compare this to that movie. Overall, not a bad movie, horrible acting. I have seen worse though. I give it a C.
Would I watch again? - No I won't.
*Also try - 5th Quarter & Facing The Giants

The film is not as bad as some have reviewed it. Some pretty good acting from Drew Waters and Chad Halbrook. The rest of the characters, ok, acting is not their A-game. For once some believable sports performance from the actors and stand-ins, with sufficient direction to make it believable. The plot is never staid, but told almost religiously as recited in the New Testament, with a modern spin. Work in David and Goliath, Samson and Delilah, and you have a Christian movie working hard to provide some entertainment in a heavy-handed parable. A recommended film for the Christian family on a Saturday night, which will leave plenty of room for discussion afterward. For the rest, better a skip.
