Kobato is easily one of my favorite anime's of all time! This was a blind watch for me, I knew nothing of the story. From episode one I was hooked and cannot recommend it enough.
This show is flawlessly executed. Not one character is wasted, there are no useless filler episodes, the music is AMAZING, the animation is gorgeous, and the story is beautiful. I cried or was near tears every single episode. Yes, there are many sad moments, but it's a bittersweet sort of feeling and somehow hope remains that all will be as it should be in the end. That's the spirit of Kobato.
Kobato will make you laugh, it will definitely make you cry, and it will make you think too. Don't miss this wonderful show!

Since I have memory I have loved and enjoy watching Anime, I am always on the search to find good anime shows and movies. Specially romantic ones. (I am a hopeless romantic), BUT THIS ONE!!. This anime definitely made me create an account here just to leave a review! I have never cried so hard for an anime, I am crying while I am typing this but this is an anime that is worth watching.
Believe me you will enjoy every episode! Thank me later. Sayonara! :)

At first, I thought this was going to be a light hearted romantic comedy anime, something I'd easily forget. But as it neared the end, I found myself begging for this and that (not going to give anything away), and I was sad to see it end. I love this anime. The characters are realistic as they all have some flaws, the story is funny and easy to keep up with, it holds your interest without overloading you with plot twists, and even though this isn't some huge epic as many of the animes I watch are, I still enjoyed it. I recommend this for people who liked Cardcaptor Sakura or Elemental Gelade. Hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I did!

At first, I thought it was cute girly anime which will end with a happy ending and be forgettable, but to my surprise, it completely changed my mind the last few episodes were so sentimental, I was crying so much and haven't in a while. I will cherish this anime in my heart for the feeling it gave me. Kobato is such a sweet girl she cares for others before herself she does so much for the people and she truly inspires me even though I'm an adult she is the true epitome of femininity, and I believe that every woman/girl should watch this just because of how lovely it is. I watched this with my younger sister who is about 10 and she completely loves it!! <33.
I enjoyed watching this anime for the pureness and heartwarming feeling that it gave me. Kobato was an adorable character. I loved seeing her relationship with others develop, especially with Fujimoto (although, Fujimoto was a jerk in the beginning). She truly wanted to help others, even if it doesn't help her mission. I just wished that it wasn't emphasized in almost every episode that she's kind of dumb and a klutz. It wasn't necessarily bad, but they just did it for comedic effect, and you get fed up with it. You might find it annoying at some point. The character I truly loved is Ioryogi. He's funny, but he tries his best to push Kobato, and call her out when she's being dumb.
The story was more character-driven, so you won't necessarily see a progression in the plot. Sometimes it felt repetitive, especially since most of the issues that Kobato encountered focused on misunderstandings. If only they talked about it on their own. You can feel that the anime has 24 episodes, meaning its kind of slow-paced.
I wish that there were more discussions about the different worlds that exist within this story. They were only briefly mentioned in the anime. I wanted to know more about the Celestial World, Nether World, and the Spirit World. Also, it was never fully explained how Kobato ended up in her situation. We never fully get the extent of what Kobato's wish really is. Just tidbits. I honestly felt a little bit confused by the end because of the lack of it. I only found out about more backstories through the Wikipedia page. It would have been better if they included that in the anime. Although, we can't really fault the creators of the anime because the manga was still ongoing when it was adapted. It's intriguing to read to manga just to find out more about the story that wasn't included in the anime.
