Feminist filmmaker Petra Joy won an award way back when with this set of a dozen porn vignettes, ahead of her time in breaking the boundaries that traditionally, rack jobber-style, pigeonholed porn for the consumer. She mixes straight, lesbiand, and all-male porn content, as well as mixing softcore and hardcore porn.

Its actual eroticism is a matter of taste, as inevitably the viewer will be turned on by this or that niche -the novelty being combining them in a single package. In recent years transsexual porn and especial lesbian porn have become accepted as mainstream, but Gay porn (all-male sex) remains in a ghetto, unlike the everything is everything (yes, that so often mocked '60s philosophy) approach Petra takes.

The unknown male performers here are less than photogenic, but busty Violetta Storm is quite attractive, even moreso than the British porn star Violet Storm who obviously was her inspiration as to choice of stage name.

Highlights of "Feminine Fantasies" include silhouetted dance scenes including a Roaring Twenties style fan dance; a lesbian tryst in the kitchen that is quite romantic; a two-part erotic dream of Lili La Chrosse that turns into a masked orgy on her bed. Somewhat out of place (but part of "everything") is a vignette in black & white of an amateur named Chris masturbating in the bathroom. That scene is complemented by two public sex scenes in a lavatory, one featuring three studs giving each other blow jobs and the other being boy/girl kink in which one of the studs gives Lili's strap-on dildo a blow job.

Two years before she died (in 2015), pioneering feminist filmmaker Candida Royalle made this 2006 feature available to a wider public, as a DVD release from her Femme label through Adam & Eve Pictures.
