The movie is a experimental project.

The light,color,effects are realy good, sometimes i think they do more they could. The cast was great , but the story in parts have a rely surreal and without sense.

I think Ayax the spanish raper do it better than i tought. The entire film is a mixture of the Wizard Of Oz.but they dont solve it realy well. There some aspect of the tape the no sense occupies much of the movie. There are some references to WizarOfOz like a said and others like Twin Peaks (especially on characters). Is one one of the first movies of this director , and first one in netflix. So my 6 , in general , i put it because is a experimental project , the film tries to involve you to a other world and disconect. But there still a lot of work to do.

Honestly, it is too bad about Rainbow. The preview looked really good, but for some reason I kept it on my list for a while. I was hesitant to watch it and couldn't exactly explain why. Now that I've seen the movie I can tell you why: it's not very good. I thought the vagueness of the Wizard of Oz was creative without making it too hard to see. They didn't make it some blatant shifting of the old tale to a modern one. This was its own story. The characters were all fantastic, and I thought they had a good chemistry together. Everything else about this movie was not good. As I said it IS it's own story, but it's a bad one. The writing was bad, and some of the design ideas were a bit out there for me. I hope there are people that do who do Rainbow, but I'm not one of them.

In Rainbow, the Spanish director Paco Leon, delivers a new fresh concept of Dorothy. Dora (maybe like Marco ;) is looking for her mother whom she has never met.

The colourful musical is a modern and cool interpretation of the Wizard of Oz .

In Rainbow, Dora is lost like the Quijote in "La España profunda". Lost in today's modern world, Dora confronts several weird and awkward situations in her venture to meet her mother Pilar .

This is a creative new concept of Dorothy in a modern world of todays' Oz. I love the young actress Dora.

The soundtrack has a cool beat and an amazing feeling.

I think I would give a 7.5 overall.

Un homage a Wizard of Oz, con una historia divertida y fácil de digerir. Un casting ideal.

An audio visual treat, magnificent cinematography, hats off for the director. Wonderfully casted, easy to follow, great homage to Wizard of Oz, but an original and creative story that's entertaining and easy to follow.

Absolutely loved revisé of colors to tell the story, the score is absolutely on point.

Congratulations to everyone involved, I only wish cinema keeps moving in this direction and studios green lit more pictures like this. Good on Netflix for backing this.

In this modern day Spanish retelling of 'The Wizard of Oz' Dora is a teenage girl who lives with her father. One day she decides to find her mother. She sets off with her dog, Toto, and soon finds her grandmother and great aunt. The meeting doesn't go well and she ends up on the run, accused of murder! She is still determined to find her mother; along the way she meets a man chained up in a junkyard, a suicidal older gentleman and a gay man; clearly standing in for the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion respectively. As they travel they face various dangers and Dora learns more about her family.

I thought this film was a lot of fun. While it plays with the themes and characters of 'The Wizard of Oz' it never really feels as though it is trying to be a remake and most of the more fantastical elements are removed. Dora Postigo is a delight as Dora; our fire-engine red haired Dorothy. The rest of the cast are sold too; I especially liked Carmen Maura as Coco Cabrera; Dora's wealthy great aunt who is clearly modelled on the Wicked Witch of the West. The film looks great with vibrant colours and a somewhat trippy feel. It also uses music really well without being a musical. At times it may have got a little messy and could probably have done with being a little shorter but I'm still really glad I chose to watch it. I'd certainly recommend giving it a go.
