I was able to view this film at the 2024 Phoenix Film Festival and truly enjoyed myself the whole time. The film was very reminiscent of older Spielberg movies with a lot of adventure and playful humor. The location of the film was exceptionally beautiful and the acting was very strong. What I enjoyed most about this film is how it brought me back to some of my most favorite films from my childhood. I will definitely be following this filmmakers future projects and hope this gets a large release in the future so I can spread the word. I would encourage anyone looking for a fun, heartwarming feature film to watch.

I loved Bolt from the Blue! I enjoyed every minute. This movie has it all! A wonderful, exciting, fun story. Such a strong cast and really great performances from each of them. Stunning shots of beautiful Alaska - wow!!! And high production value - I was so impressed and I can't wait to see what Jack and his collaborators make next!

Mostly, I love how full of heart this movie is, both in the story itself and seemingly in the creation of it. It made me happy to watch it! I highly recommend checking this movie out - good for all ages! Congratulations to all those that were a part of bringing it to life!

I felt like I was 8 again watching this film, reminding me of what it was like to have childhood wonder and fearless ambitions. The main male character was the epitome of charisma and his acting was incredible, down to his nuanced eye/facial movements and his body language. The chemistry between the leading actors felt genuine and lovely. Despite the simplicity of the plot, the movie never felt derivative, and if anything just reaffirms how much Hollywood has failed to deliver movies that aim for a singular target without missing the mark. But Jack Martin has done it with Bolt from the Blue. I'm confident whatever he makes in the future will inevitably get even better, and I cannot wait to see them!

Page Gomez was a bright spot and held the film together. She was a delight and I was surprised that this was her first feature film. The cinemetography was beautiful. The story overdid the eccentricty of the doctor and seemed to channel Ghostbusters and Back to the Future a bit too much and I did not develop sympathy for the doctor. Also, they had a lot of subplots and characters that were probably not neccessary and used screentime that could have been dedicated to better character development. All in all, enjoyable and I see a great future for the cast and crew. The Alaska setting with beached crab boats made for interesting backdrops.

It nails the 80s and 90s vibe perfectly, nostalgic without feeling outdated, with a great mix of throwback style and modern energy. The main characters are hilarious and super likable, bringing so much charm and personality to the story. The supporting cast also shines, with plenty of memorable moments that sometimes steal the spotlight.

The story is simple yet effective, leaning into its lighthearted tone while still packing in enough emotional beats to keep viewers invested. The humor is sharp and well-paced, with a good mix of slapstick, clever dialogue, and heartfelt moments. There's also a lot of love and attention to detail in how the movie captures the feel of those classic eras, from visuals to the soundtrack.

If you're into feel-good, nostalgic comedies, this one's a must-watch. More films like this, please!

Absolutely LOVED this film - it's as if Doc from "Back to the Future" were 30 years old and set loose in a small town in Alaska. The vibe was so fun, the characters had both heart and depth, and really - it's been a minute since I left the theater with a big ol' smile on my face.

And that's what this film delivers: joy.

Joy to be in a theater, to laugh at the ridiculous twists and turns, and to sink fully into a story I'm excited to share with my friends and family.

The characters and performances themselves were also spectacular - with SO many great laughs and moments in there, layered with some real soul from director Jack Martin. Cannot wait to see what he does next!

Absolutely delightful fun movie for the whole family! We really enjoyed it and as I said in the headline, we need more movies that make people feel good and I felt great when I left the movie theater. Great job!! The scenery was spectacular. The story well thought out taking a person's dream and passion through thin and thick to achieve glory is something we seldom see these days in film. The acting was superb. I rarely am moved by movies but this one got me! Again nice job! I really do think this film would do great in schools as it would inspire young people to use their imagination and pursue dreams all the way to the finish line.

OMG! What a great nostalgic feeling movie. The director and cast do a great job of bringing out that 80s/90s feel. The way movies in the past were grounded and extremely funny at the same time. I love films like this and miss the 90s feel.

It is very well written and acted. Production value is epic. The Cinematography is great. As well as the soundtrack.

I was lucky to catch this on a big screen. You will not be disappointed with renting this film. Jack's Feature Directorial debut is a good one! I cannot to wait to see more from him as his career continues.

No spoilers in the review so you just have to go watch this Sci-Fi on your own and trust you will be in for a happy surprise. The movie trailer also does a great job capturing the films essence without ruining the film.

A hidden gem, I really enjoyed this movie!

Easily this film could be received as B movie or confounded with some bad low budget ones, because for some feature remember a high level amatorial production or a fan made movie; but is not!

Unusual plot bring an unconventional storyline, definitely something different with great cast performance!

This film brought me back to some of my most favorite films from my childhood, like the Goonies.

I will definitely looking for other future works by this filmmakers.

A movie that deserves more recognition and worth a watch by any audience; specially recommended for family and youngsters.

I would say kids as young as 8 would both enjoy the movie and not be scared or put off by the storyline. The comedic delivery from the characters and funny lines are delivered in a way that adults will chuckle along while the language won't offend the younger audience. Overall feels like the sort of fun from Back to the Future meets Ghostbusters meets Goonies. Really an all around fun movie that also has a positive storyline that parents will enjoy their kids being impacted from. I watched this with my 12yo as I wasn't sure if my 7yo would like it or be scared, but afterwards I wished I had brought the littler one along. Overall a wonderful movie from a first time director and producer, highly recommended!

This movie is an incredible example of original independent filmmaking. Bolt from the Blue is a fun, hilarious, and heartfelt adventure of a movie that keeps you locked in for the whole ride. The premise is very original, the cast are all very strong and have believable chemistry, and the Alaska wilderness that serves as the backdrop to the film brings a sense of roundedness to the fantastic premise.

The storytelling felt very human. At every moment, you knew exactly where the emotional state of each character was. There were so many moments of genuine humanity that really shown through.

Overall a great watch from an exciting young director.

This is the kind of movie that we need.

I was sceptical at first but I the story took me away. I love the heart.

Acting is believable as are the characters. The story is heartwarming and new. Whomever wrote these characters did an excellent job, only a few cliches. The location is a character all in itself.

Science is in the forefront and it's somewhat believable, it looks possible. There are some scenes that you can tell they used a green screen but the special effects are mostly practical.

The camp is top notch.

The reason I give this a 9 out of 10 is because I will probably not watch this over and over again. I will rewatch, however only a few times.

We need movies like these.
