Luther tells the story about a self-destructive near-genius detective hunts down the criminals of London using his own abilities, but, to himself, he is also stuck in a Godless world and he now faces his emotional demons of his past, and as he deals with catching criminals and solving his own personal and dangerous problems, he is either a force for good or a man hell-bent on self-destruction.

Because, it is possible is either Luther wanted to kill him by making him fall off a broken ledge where Henry was hanging on and it is because Henry killed young girls by burying them in unknown places and letting them suffocate to death, if Luther saved Henry, Henry would possibly killed him. Luther attempts to make Madsen fall to his death, but eventually loses his grip, and Henry survives in the process, breaking many bones and landing a coma (shown later in the episode and the 2nd and 4th). Luther also regrets his decision.
