Unstoppable Marriage, is a 2007 Korean romance/comedy/melodrama movie. It's pretty average, and is quickly forgettable!

Story: Young rich privileged dude and sensible practical normal girl fall for each other. That's basically all there is to it, and it's a story that is told on a seemingly daily basis in cinema (particularly so in Korea).

This movie is not terrible, but it does seem like it was stamped out on a cookie cutter assembly line press without a whole lot of thought or effort involved. The two main leads are agreeable enough, but you never feel the chemistry that's supposed to exist between the two. You know they're going to fall in love eventually, and they do so of course, but you are left to wonder exactly why & how this happened. I actually had to rewind the movie to see if I missed a scene or two, because it seems to be lacking a few steps in the standard love evolution story. You've basically got two people from different worlds who spend a hot minute in each other's worlds getting to know each other; then, BOOM, they're automatically in love with each other to the point that they must get married asap (just because that's the way it's supposed to be).

This film had been in my queue for quite a while, and my GF likes this type of stuff, so we finally got around to watching it a few days ago. I was somewhat looking forward to it, because these Korean melodramas can often be quite good (if done right), and I enjoy writing IMDb reviews for movies/series that have little to no reviews at present.

So, I get up today and am ready to write my IMDb review, and I see karluk99 has beat me to it a week ago after 4 years of no reviews whatsoever. Honestly, I think his/her review is pretty accurate and to the point; this is a fairly disappointing flick overall that can only be considered average at best, and I did not really like it all that much It won't make you gouge your eyes out, but you can easily skip this movie for something else.

Karluk99 points out that this movie is better suited as TV drama, and I completely agree. However, I would like to posit the opinion that this seems to be designed as a KTV drama to begin with, that somehow never got aired for whatever reason, and was thusly haphazardly turned into a movie. There are so many moments/scenes/stories that seem to beg to be fleshed out more, or be cut altogether, in order to make it work better as a movie.

Bottom Line: This story should have never been produced as a movie in its current form; it's so obviously bound for a KTV melodrama that it's hard to look upon it as anything else. There are a few likable moments here and there, but not enough to consider it a recommended watch overall.

I'm giving it 5 out of 10 stars!

This is a surprisingly funny short sweet rom com movie. It isn't predictable as you would imagine. A paragliding instructor / paper doll maker and a breast enhancing doctor fall in love. Then her father and his mother get involved. There is a contrast between a traditional Korean family and a vulgar nouveau riche family. Some of the flow of the story is a bit rushed but it is easy to follow.

The attractive main couple is winningly played by the pretty Eugene Kim of Penthouse and Ha Seok Jin of CLOY. The 2 parents are funny especially his Mom who has a penchant for using English words.

Worth a watch.
