The Dealer

An engaging piece of Australian film, this movie keeps you thinking as you explore intense themes that leave you immersed in the story, and creating your own theories and conclusions upon completion.

The imagery and videography style focusses on detailed shots, allowing the smallest of changes, items, colouring and even steadiness of the picture to be highlighted. It is done so in a way that produces intense connection and evokes an emotional response from the audience, holding your attention for the entire movie.

It is well worth a watch, different from much of what is produced today, a testament to this Australian director. Just be aware that the themes are intense, not for children and most young teenagers, and will keep you thinking for long after the credits roll. Every time you think you know where the story line is going, you will be challenged.

Watched The Dealer three times. I couldn't believe the quality of this film came from an amateur production. The acting was superb, each actor fitting into their characters as I would have imagined. Each time I watch the film I pick up something different that I missed on the first time viewing. The music composition is incredible and really sets the mood of the film. This movie although confronting is current and relevant to today. This film might not suit everyone. It does need to be watched more than once to truely appreciate the film. A level of maturity is required from the audience. Definitely worth watching.

Wow! No kidding about it being dark! Don't watch it with your kids around!

It's really good though. It takes a little while before things are revealed. I thought it was about one thing at the start (I don't want to say what it was in case of spoilers but you can guess from the title), but it went a completely different and unexpected direction.

I have to say that it's very hard to watch. It is NOT 'enjoyable' but I can't stop myself staying up late and watching to the end. The story starts up slow but builds and builds in such a gut wrenching direction that I wanted to stop watching but can't. Definitely memorable and impactful.

For five years I waited in anticipation for The Dealers release... I was so excited when it was released this year... Woah... from the very start it has you guessing with every scene.. you have no idea what to expect next with so many twists and turns.. I must say quite dark and probably not for the faint hearted... some parts had me watching with one eye closed... it's a great film and one I won't forget in a hurry... I thoroughly enjoyed it.. brilliant job by cast & crew... an honourable mention goes out to Dellacoma Rio who not only played The Distributor convincingly but also has two of his songs featured in the film...
