It's a simple story but it satisfies me. Even though there was cliche scenes it was enjoyable. I started watching this show without much expectations but it turned out to be good. There isn't any lag in the story and you can binge watch it without getting bored.

So I Married An Anti-Fan is a rom-com that's sweet, cheesy and sometimes emotional as well. A simple story of a journalist's life changing moment when she gets involved with a popular star.
The cast were good, especially Choi Soo Young who played here mischievous yet understanding character pretty well. While the character development of the lead pairing was palpable, it did not reach a point where you feel like the supporting cast was not part of the picture at all.
With a breath-taking mix of comedy, romance, friendship, bromance, jealousy, and a lot more, the journey of Geun-young and Hoo Joon in this drama was satisfactory
My Rating : 7.5/10.

I am binging episode 4 now and i love the drama so far. Hope they keep up the good work and hope for the best.
This part is added right after finishing the whole drama.
I still stand on my opinion . It was wrapped up really nicely and the story was healing and soothing in a unique way. Even the cliche romantic scenes were beautiful . Support the drama because it does worth that much.

A journalist played by Choi Soo-young gets into a misunderstanding with a successful singer played by Choi Tae-joon, and ends up flinging a shoe at him which is captured on film hitting him. This altercation leads them both to appear on a tv series called "So I married an anti fan" where they are expected to behave like a couple. Behind the scenes there are people trying to hurt both their careers and the initial frostiness between them melts as they begin to care about each other and want to shield the other from harm. It is a predictable script and the story seems to fizzle out at the end but the romance is sweet and there are some amusing moments.

I read the webtoon already. So, I already know the storyline. Still, I am eagerly waiting for every episode. This means, even if it is a cliché rom com k drama, it still has the ability to capture your attention. It is a light drama; you need not to think much while watching it.
Currently, most of the ongoing k-drama are of thriller genre. "So I married an anti-Fan" is a sweet escape from such dramas.
I finished Vincenzo a while ago, although I liked that drama but just like Cha Young, it was hard to endure all those murder scenes.
Also, at this moment, we are facing pandemic, second wave is more dangerous, we are already living in a harsh reality. I did not want to create more stress on my mind by watching more stressful k-dramas.
In the meantime, "So I married an anti-Fan" came to me as a blessing and I am enjoying it very much. I will highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed the first several episodes. I looked forward to the next episode with great anticipation; however, that didn't last. The last several episodes were the same thing over and over which were very frustrated. This story would have been much better at 12 episodes instead of the 16 that it was.
I thought the leads had good chemistry except for when they kissed. The kisses always seemed very one sided. I think that should have become mutual and more passionate over time as their connection grew.
I disliked both of the second leads, one was a bully and the other was depressed and cried all of the time. I watch KDramas to get away from it all for awhile and watching a bully and cry baby are not the way I want to do that.

I'm not going to sit here and say this Asian drama is perfect. Honestly, I'd probably give it an 8.5 stars if I could, but I'll be nice and round it up.
I watch a lot of Asian dramas, like many others, and a lot of them I eventually stop watching and never finish the ending because it's so cliche. I get so tired and bored of the typical Asian dramas so this was refreshing. I do read the webtoon, and that's what made me interested in the drama.
I binged it. I have not binged and lost sleep on a drama in a LONG time. Very long. Even though there's some cringey moments and cliche scenes, I overly did enjoy this.
I find that most dramas SooYoung acts in are pretty good, but the main actors have really good chemistry together and it made it feel so much better.

Honestly, K dramas don't have to do much to entertain me. It's about comforting cliches. But I hand it to the writers in this one.
After a misunderstanding at an event, I found the FL/Reporter's rush to judgement and reluctance to accept any responsibility for her behavior or its consequences infuriating, much as the ML/K-pop idol did after he was subjected to vomit and shoe-chucking. And I found the artificial saintliness the K-pop idol presents to his fans in public utterly cloying and disingenuous, just as she did. So I believed their reactions to one another because I had the same reactions myself. I was annoyed by them both.
So there's that.
I have no idea if the kpop industrial complex actually cranks out highly disciplined homogenized pop stars the way it's presented here, but it may be trainees do put up with a lot of 'handling' and reinvention on their way up. Additional characters include two friends and trainees who failed. One is the mandatory mopey pop wannabe ex-girlfriend who's with the other frenemy, a rich washed up K-pop wannabe now running his own talent agency. He's the jealous antagonist who seeks every chance to attack his former friend now major star.
Shoechucker gets fired after pressure from K-pop idol's people and so she goes on a social media rant to slag him off. This creates a backlash against her which inspires fan retaliation, a smarmy rescue by K-pop idol and a TV show "So I married my Anti-Fan." It's a fake 'reality' show putting enemies under one roof to see what happens.
Well, enemies let down their guards, learn about each other and fall in lurvvvvv, which causes all kinds of trouble for kpop idol, whose fans hate her.
As I say, not Dostoyevsky but a cozy K-romcom.

I've been watching Kdramas from last 10 years and have watched so many good dramas, I watched trailer of this drama and liked it so decided to watch it. The plot was not up to mark and lack a lot in the middle, it was unnecessarily stretched a lot. Other supporting casts have done good work, but I am being asked to told about the lead casts, the Chemistry was missing completely.
The female lead was acting good in scenes of being annoyed but when it comes to romance, you don't feel anything after watching them together, specially the female lead she was helpless in some scenes.
And the plot is old same and not very interesting, yeah there were few scenes when I laughed. But in some scenes I don't understand is it something I should laugh unless the background music doesn't tell you so.
I would say the male lead is still a little better in his acting than the other. Didn't enjoyed much!

SIMTAF happens after a clash between a reporter and a pop superstar that ends with her getting fired. Next, she seeks retribution - through social media and VERY public demonstrations. The whole spectacle was on display for rabid fandom to devour. What usually follows a spectacle these days? The reality show. The pop star will marry his anti-fan. He quips: 'Anti-fans are fans in a way after all, aren't they?'
Proximity Alert! The best way to overcome prejudices is through exposure, or proximity. The more we're around somebody, the more we'll see them for who they are instead of what we chose to believe before we knew the person better. (As an aside, color is one of the first things we don't see anymore once we get used to being around a person. There's a few things that are less important than the shade of someone's skin). The more we're around somebody, the more their looks change based on their inner beauty whether for the better or worse.
That's the set up. He's basically a decent guy who's gotten a tad spoiled from being a star. She's an aggressive, intelligent reporter who is the opposite of spoiled. They detest e/o. Thus the show promises us some 💥-sparks-Tension-🔥-PASSION, but we get very little of that. They start with the marriage, which is a sham. She gives him a good scare as she peels out in the convertible: The show creators, thus, reiterated their promise (FIB) that 🎆fireworks🎇 are to follow.. and... there's almost none💢. It's really perplexing as to why they didn't show them bickering while filming their show. That would have been so much more fun. The 1st episode is disjointed, sloppy, and unfocused. It lags. What they ended up with is close to glorified time-killer.
Thank the stars, they cast, actress Choi Soo Young as the FL "Geun" Young. She is special. They mostly squandered her talent. She stole the show, Run On-7, as half of the 2ndary romance. They tossed in the MSP trope (Missing or separated parent(s) which doesn't do much to enhance the plot. The show borders on bland, but it has its moments. The leads are competent and likable, while the writing is insightful in places, and those serve to guard against total floppage.
Choi Tae Joon (Suspicious Partner, Ugly Alert) portrays ML, Hoo Joon. Hwang Chan Sung (True to Love, What's Wrong with Secretary Kim-6.8, My Holo Love-6.8) is JJ / Choi Jae Joon. Han Ji An (Oh Seonam Girls High School Investigators, The Vanished) is In Hyung. Her character drags the series down a peg but she ends up providing some of its greatest depths. True, I hate the look on that girl's face. She's trying to make her singing career work and it's not going well. As her character is under tremendous stress, she holds her mouth tightly and always looks anxious. She's so stiff that it seems as if she has a neck and shoulder injury. She skulks with her shoulders drooped and her head downcast, looking a bit like a chipmunk that's about to barf. It was difficult to watch. She seems to see herself as a powerless victim and is so caught up in her trauma that she isn't once engaging, relatable, or sympathetic. I felt uneasy every time she was onscreen. She gave us a gift, in the end, though: In Hyung concludes that while she's dreamed of being loved by many people, she realizes that she's not a person that knows how to give or receive love. Few people can turn their gaze from one of self-absorption to true introspection and reach that level of internal honesty.
It seems like SIMTAF was shot as a reality show. There's nothing slick or smooth at all. There's little soundtrack, even though we're following the music industry. It's nearly lifeless at times. Geun is always beautiful, but some of her outfits are atrocious.
Yet, there are worthy themes. "In real life we all cover ourselves with prideful wrapping paper." His pride. Her prejudice. They need to crumble. One of the friends is full of hatred and bitterness over a past event which he seems to have misunderstood, to a certain extent. Things became worse over the years, not better, because his anger couldn't be mollified. It hardened into bitterness. He let a person live rent-free in his head for years! That's the same as enslaving oneself, so don't let that happen. How lying isolates us in the middle of the wilderness is another theme. "I came a long way on wings made of lies. But I realized I had nowhere to return to on wings of lies. Whether they are exposed or not, at some point our lies run their course. We who are fortunate reach our dead-ends with enough time left to do some good." That quote is more profound every time I read it.
To the final shot, though, this could have been tighter, neater, funnier, fit together better, and it could have had a better flow. It could have been alot better, yet it still wasn't bad. As I write this I'm trying to decide if this show is worth watching at all? I'm wondering if I should have abandoned it. This might be worth watching for their first kiss. It's well above average - an 8, minimum. They think no one is watching, and nobody was, but the cameraman left the camera rolling. They are so exposed, snagged, ~oh snap~ Well, lookie here. The fans are going to lose their minds!

In my opinion, it's a really enjoyable drama. The comedy part is really great, as Soo Young really portrays Geun-Yeong character. The romantic part is also very cute, as I could feel my heart pounding hard whenever the romantic scene between Tae Joon (Who-Joon) and Geun-Yeong come. The plot itself is not bad itself and not heavy at all so this is the type of drama that I would enjoy after spending a long hours at work.

Wow! The acting is superb, especially Choi Tae-Joon who is warm, funny, humble, handsome, charming & a gentleman. There was a great deal of chemistry between him and Choi Soo Young, but she always seemed a tad detached. All of the secondary characters were also great. I was rooting for Hoo Joon (Who-Joon) from the beginning. The only thing that made me quite angry is how someone who worked in publishing like Soo Young, could have so insanely relinquished her laptop, not deleted her inane posts about WhoJoon, etc. And worked for that rag. Plus, as an attorney, I would have sued the life out of that rag sheet ....
But there was a happy ending and I think his music benefitted from his trials.
Will be watching again. This is a must see. Prepare to laugh, smile, weep, cheer and get angry. A+
Also want to add that there was no extraneous fluff or wasting of time in this great show. I've noticed a tendency to add fluff etc. To fill out the 1 hour. Notable exceptions come to mind - Itaewon Class and yes, this drama. Succinct, touching, moving, growth of the characters.
But again just wish that she had sued the rag.

I think this drama came with a really good concept. But chemistry Between main character was totally disappointed. Just sudden kiss can't start a love story, they need to know. I don't know why they ended this drama just like one side love. Even at the last moment of this drama, main actress was still confuse is she really love him or not or is she really his girlfriend. And i personally didn't like her facial expression after their real love story begin.

I came with some excitement when I started watching this series. The theme, the actors and the story felt just like what I needed. Unfortunately, I found myself waiting whole 8 episodes for the series to start providing actual development. The ending of this series itself was not that something even though it was a happy ending. If you are willing to wait, starting from episode 9, you'll start getting some action and from there on things will keep getting better as the plot opens wide and starts to develop as it is supposed to be.
I love the Webtoon that this is based on and have been reading it for quite a while. I had known that there was a show based on it but was putting off watching it because my life was kind of crazy at that time. When I finally sat down to watch it, I was disappointed immediately. The female lead is super adorable, but the actor who plays Who Joon does not live up to my expectations. To be honest, I was expecting a super hot, charismatic hunk and this Who Joon just didn't give me that. Most of the side characters have annoying personalities and are kind of bad at acting (sorry!). The FL and Joon are too different from what they're supposed to be as per the webtoon, and Joon's basically bipolar in the show. There's too many cliche scenes, I'm not satisfied with their chemistry... I could go on and on. After the end of each episode, I would sit there and think, "What did I just watch?"
Don't watch it unless you're really into cheesy, half-put-together romantic stuff.

So I Married My Anti-Fan is an absolutely adorable romantic comedy. Choi Tae Jun is a real cutie and plays the handsome Superstar celebrity Hoo Joon perfectly! I saw on a live fan Episode that he hasn't done a series for approx 2 years so this was really impressive. The series will make you smile and is definitely worth watching as hardships of making it in the celebrity world come to light along with hiding relationships, love triangles, loneliness, growing up as a celebrity and falling in love. The only thing is that the title could have been a little less subtle as it is easy to guess how the ending is going to go.
