Sucker Punch's Excellent Entry Into The Next-Gen Consoles

Sucker Punch was well known for making the family friendly Sly Cooper series for the Play Station 2, but for the Play Station 3 they went in an entirely different direction and made Infamous. The story is about a bike courier named Cole MacGrath who lives in the fictional metropolis of Empire City. The game starts when an explosion levels the entire city and a quarantine is placed leaving the citizens to deal with a plague and new gang members with exceptional powers given to them from the blast. But Cole has gained powers too. He now has power over electricity and has vowed to master his powers and stop the gangs from taking over the city. As the game starts you are given the option of being good or evil. And this is where the real excellence of Infamous starts. Each choice you make affects yourself, the city, and the story. For example, in the first mission if you choose to share an emergency drop of food with the people you'll be praised, but if you choose to keep it all to yourself you'll be scorned. In addition to the main storyline, there are many side-quests that can be taken and some of these involve the same karmic choices between good and evil. Some of these are repetitive but they aren't repetitive to the point where they aren't fun to play. All the karmic choices in the game offer multiple playthroughs as both good and evil, with evil giving you more power but also deals with more destructive consequences and good powers give you more control over electricity. Infamous is incredibly fun to play, without getting too much into the main plot I can say that the game-play is near perfect and I couldn't have asked for a better superhero game from Sucker Punch. This game may lag in certain points but it is none the less a great game for the PS3.

INFAMOUS: Choices Make Us

INFAMOUS (2009) was an early ps3 release that really captured all the great things about the then new PlayStation 3 console.

There was a lot to love about the game. It was a unique story within the superhero genre, really expounding on the notion of heroes and villains. The game played heavily on choices, how your choices have consequences and determine the outcome of your life.

"Control Cole MacGrath as he evolves his newly found ability to control electricity. In a city on lock down due to plague and super-powered psychos, you must choose to act as savior to the people or become the reckless demon of Empire City."

Infamous was really good game in the often over done superhero genre. It really brought something fresh to the table and made a lasting impression. The choices that we make, end up making us.

One of the best PS3-exclusive games ever!

I bought InFamous a few weeks ago and i was amazed by the depth of the game. It's so fun to just run around and blast bad guys off the rooftops. The power of the character is amazing, as the story evolves you get more and more powers.

The story in the game is also great and the gameplay never gets dull.

One of the most amazing things about the game is the paths you can choose. To be good or evil. If you want to be a 'superhero' or a 'villan'. It's not really the first game to do the whole "dark side vs light" but it nailed it nonetheless.

To sum it all up. This game is awesome! If you haven't bought it yet, do it!

I totally recommend this game

So, I had played inFAMOUS from the evening of Saturday the 14th of September to the morning of Thursday the 19th of September, and I played it again this month (as in December 2019 depending on when you read this review). It had some missions from the story mode that I find very difficult to beat through and I've been doing side missions. Is it fun? Here are my thoughts. Coming from a fan of superheroes since childhood, who also sees this game as the Heroes (2006-2010) of PlayStation...YES, it's really fun to play. What a like about the cutscenes of this game is how it looked like it was made from a comic book. Which is funny because DC Comics had made a comic book series adaptation of the Infamous game which is why I thought Cole would've fit perfectly as a playable PlayStation exclusive character for Injustice: Gods Among Us, but nope, we got him in Street Fighter X Tekken for the PlayStation. Maybe it'll be cool to have Delsin Rowe or Fetch or maybe both to appear as playable PlayStation exclusive characters for the next Injustice game for the PS4 and/or the PS5 if Netherrealm Studios are planning on making one. I mean, Netherrealm Studios had Kratos in Mortal Kombat (2011) for the PS3, so why not? I'm not saying that they are doing that, I was saying that it would be cool if they do that. Anyway, I like how the story was made (which I rather not talk about here since this is a spoiler free review), especially the concept of the game which is why I should say it again, it's like the Heroes (2006-2010) of PlayStation. I had a fun time playing the game.

P.S. The only issue I have with the game which I agree with gamers who have the same thing with this game are the glitches which I'll have to get use to, but aside from that, it's still fun to play. I totally recommend it.
