Crime and Justice

The series makes interesting stories from real life stories in the media. The lighting, color, costumes are all so well done. Great performances allround from Maqbul Mohammed, Sarah Hassan and .Munyua.

Fantastic story lines showing the reality of system in the society we are living in. Crime and Justice series is compelling, thrilling and arguably one of the best investigative show in Africa.

The direction is extremely good as is the casting. Renowned local actors, Jimmy Gathu, Wakio Mzenge, Lydia Gitachu (my fav) et al make it even more interesting. The working relationship between Detectives Makena and Silas is great, they complement each other and clearly understand their personalities.

Homegrown, Retribution, Slaughterhouse and The Slaying of an Australian Billionaire were among the best episodes. I highly recommend this series.

I like that this show presents issues that affect Kenya currently and it gives the audience an opportunity to experience the justice system through the eyes of detectives Makena and Silas, even if that means that the story sometimes doesn't have a happy ending.

I am in the first 37 minutes of the first episode and not impressed. Apart from the star studded cast and the crisp clear picture.... Not impressed. Question, did Sarah hassan who plays Makena go through intensive training to atleast fit the role of a cop? That chase scene in the beginning was painful to watch. Let's not begin on the way Barasa's arrest scene happened. It didn't feel natural.... It felt preconceived. Like the were just seated and told action and they proceeded. For me I look at the small things that compliment the big things...its quite unfortunate I am halfway through the first episodes and I can already pick out some falls here and there.

Really enjoyed the diverse episodes and each with a bow to current societal issues. The cast are consistent and you quickly develop a relationship especially detective Makena with her heart...highly recommend it.
