Musicals: The Greatest Show

The Covid pandemic has seriously hit theatre among other industries.

Anyone who has been to London's theatreland will realise that they were not built for social distancing. Usually even with the top theatres you are packed like sardines in tight seating.

The mathematics of musicals means that many west end musicals cannot survive if some seats are left deliberately vacant.

The BBC brought musical theatre to the television screen for one night only.

A fun show and a reminder of what has been missing since the pandemic has started.

Another well-intentioned "we'll bring the much missed musicals into your front room" show, but much like Zoom calls and wearing your pyjamas all day, this sort of show has lost its appeal too.
