Former 'Defenders' Star Krysten Ritter Is "Optimistic" About MCU Comeback in 'Daredevil: Born Again'
Image
With several former Marvel/Netflix stars joining the MCU in Daredevil: Born Again, Krysten Ritter is throwing her hat in the ring for Jessica Jones to get her own Disney+ series in the future. Ritter played Jessica Jones in her eponymous Marvel series, which ran for three seasons on Netflix between 2015 and 2019, with the character also joining her fellow Marvel Netflix stars, Iron Fist, Daredevil, and Luke Cage, in The Defenders in 2017. Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) leads Born Again, and has already been joined by The Punisher (Jon Bernthal), Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), Bullseye (Wilson Bethel), and many more. Here's hoping there's room for one more fan favorite character from Marvel's past in Season 2.

During an appearance on CBS Mornings to promote her new novel, Retreat, Krysten Ritter was asked about joining the ranks of the MCU as Jessica Jones, either in Daredevil: Born Again or in her own series.

[This story contains spoilers from season two, episode four, “Woe’s Hollow.”]

In its third episode, Severance season two reintroduced one of the Apple show’s biggest mysteries: the goats — namely, what’s up with them? Why are they crawling all over a field tucked away in the severed floor of Lumon? What do they have to do with the macrodata refinement process, if anything?

If you thought goats were weird, though, a certain set of animatronic Innies would like to have a quick word. Episode four, the riveting “Woe’s Hollow,” adds a whole new question to the arena, or at the very least, heightens an old one: Are the Egans hoping to achieve immortality via robotics?

Married (2014)
Married at First Sight Season 18 is in full swing, and the drama between the couples is just starting to heat up.

The newlyweds recently celebrated their one-month anniversary but it hasn’t been smooth sailing for the matches, except for Camille Parsons and Thomas McDonald.

Despite a few hiccups, they’ve been the most stable couple on the show.

Camille’s main issue was that her straight-laced husband lacked swag, and she’s been trying to spruce him up since then.

A pair of diamond earrings and a new wardrobe did the trick, as did a sit-down with the experts to spice things up in the bedroom.

That Tmi moment played out in Episode 13, with handcuffs and other things included.

So far, things appear to be going well for the couple, but the season is not over yet.

Keep reading to discover what happened with Camille and Thomas on Decision Day.

In Retreat (2024) ‘Busan’ Movie Review: Maisam Ali’s Ladakh-set film evokes tender ache in homecoming
Jamie Bell, Cillian Murphy, and Thandiwe Newton in Retreat (2011)
A man returns home to Ladakh after many years in Maisam Ali’s In Retreat. His brother has passed away. Mourning brings him home but not quite. There’s a lot of perambulation; a fixed, finite moment where he crosses the threshold into his family house remains postponed. So he rambles through the night across lanes and streets of Ladakh.

Ali elides detail and explanations. He’s not interested in a routine verbalisation of family fault lines. The cracks in the distance that has sedimented over the years between the man and his family come instead through the reluctance. There are grudges and resentments held against him. He arrives on his home terrain but keeps deferring entering home itself. Confrontations are held off as long as one can. Pain and guilt, though, wedge themselves heavy and deep into the crevices of every frame.

In the melancholy-swathed In Retreat, there’s only circling,...

This was all setting the stage for the release of Lovestruck, which brought back the Turn Ons/Turn Offs mechanic from past titles like The Sims 2 to help determine how attracted Sims are to each other through mutual interests and different types of interactions. Image
Dolph Lundgren's new show, Flip A Cöin, centers around him flipping a coin for 30 minutes each episode. The show is described as a bizarre project that is both funny and well put together. Flip A Cöin comes courtesy of Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort Channel, and is narrated by Watchmen and Couples Retreat star Malin Åkerman.

Action icon and The Expendables star Dolph Lundgren has offered some details about his new show, Flip A Cöin, while speaking exclusively with MovieWeb. Of course, there aren’t all that many details to reveal in the first place, with Flip A Cöin simply centering on Lundgren flipping a coin...and taking it very seriously. Coming courtesy of Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort Channel, Flip A Cöin sounds like the kind of show that television was made for, with Lundgren declaring that, yes, the concept is as simply brilliant as it sounds.

"It's kind of a different little bizarre project.

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from “Chapter 7: Retreat,” the finale of “A Murder at the End of the World,” now streaming on Hulu.

Like an Agatha Christie novel rebooted for the age of ChatGPT, at the end of “A Murder at the End of the World,” the AI butler did it.

The revelation that Ray (Edoardo Ballerini), the Siri-style digital assistant to billionaire Andy (Clive Owen) has been masterminding the deaths at their snowbound retreat was only one of the startling conclusions of FX’s series, which concluded Dec. 19. (All episodes are now available to stream on Hulu.) Darby Hart (Emma Corrin) came to understand the origin of the killings, carried out by Andy’s young son Zoomer (Kellan Tetlow) as part what he naively believed was a game with his digital companion. The realization was spurred in part by seeing that her late ex Bill (Harris Dickinson...

Cillian Murphy's Most Underrated Performance Was in 28 Days Later
Image
Cillian Murphy is definitely gaining some attention as the release of Oppenheimer takes the world by storm. Aside from his leading role in the new biopic, he's no stranger to Christopher Nolan movies, often being a bit of an underdog in these storylines. But Murphy's most underrated performance has nothing to do with Nolan.

When one thinks of post-apocalyptic horror, they probably think of shows like The Walking Dead or movies like I Am Legend and World War Z. But one of the most beloved post-apocalyptic horror movies is a low-budget British gem called 28 Days Later. The movie was pretty successful, despite its questionable quality and gruesome imagery. Today, it's rated highly among fans and critics, and 20 years later, 28 Days Later stands strong in the horror movie world. But many people don't realize it was also a big break for Oppenheimer star Cillian Murphy.

Singapore Is in the Midst of A Luxury Hotel Boom

“Singapore is Asia for beginners,” says Cher and the Loneliest Elephant director Jonathan Finnigan, “because it’s so safe, it’s so organized, and English is the national language. Everything works, and you’re never going to struggle for good food — there’s too much almost.”

The island urban jungle at the tip of mainland Southeast Asia is a refined mashup of Malay, Chinese and Indian cultures — and flavors — with some Indonesian, Thai and English influence for good measure. The Garden City, as it’s known, is also a newly certified sustainable destination by Global Sustainable Tourism Council’s Destination Criteria.

2023 is set to be a huge year in the luxury hospitality realm: The 190-room Singapore Edition Hotel is expected to bow, as is the Artyzen Singapore, which promises plenty of flora worthy of the city’s green reputation. The Standard, Singapore, is in the works with 143 keys anticipated in early 2024, too,...
