Avis à la une
When I stumbled upon "Wolves", I had not heard about it, but I was intrigued by the DVD cover. Why? Well, as a life-long avid fan of horror, of course I do enjoy werewolf movies.
"Wolves" turned out to be fairly generic in terms of werewolves movie go, but it was still entertaining enough for what it turned out to be.
The storyline in "Wolves" was predictable for sure, but still turned out to be entertaining enough.
They had a good cast ensemble, which performed quite well and actually managed to keep the movie from sinking into mediocrity. It was rather interesting to watch Jason Momoa in a movie such as this, and I must admit that he was cast quite well for such a role.
One of the best things about "Wolves" was the great special effects and CGI, because they really added lots of flavor and layers to the movie.
Luckily "Wolves" didn't turn out to be a revamped version of "Twilight" just with werewolves instead of vampires. It was actually rather enjoyable, although I doubt it is a movie that you will return to watch a second time around.

This is a better than average Werewolf movie. For a fairly low budget film, the quality is surprisingly high. The special effects are also much better than you would expect from this type of movie.
Jason Momoa is especially well cast as the head of the "Wolf Pack". He has the looks and the sheer physical presence to pull off this kind of role.
Far less successful is Lucas Till.At this point in his career, he simply does not have the experience to carry an entire movie. He comes across like a bland "Ken Doll", than a character with a dark secret in his past.
The script has a "been there done that" aspect to it. It steals elements from any number of previous movie sin this genre. Do not expect anything even remotely new or innovative here.
If you like werewolf movies, this one is worth your while to watch.

Yes it's not Underworld or whatever great Production from the past decades but it's a decend Werewolf Movie that didn't waste my time.
For a low budget movie, It surprisingly decent. After his great performance as Kal Drogo, Jason Momoa really show that he actually can act IMHO. He steal the thunder from main character of this movie. Well, I can't say much since English is not my first language but all I can tell, despite some of it's flaws such the weak plot and one or two scenes that made me cringed a little, I did enjoy watching this movie.
At the end of a tiring day, I just want to sit down on my comfy couch alone without my girlfriend bothering me, turn on my bluray and home theater system, and watch a movie that not trying to preach me about life lesson, or some chick flick come from fan-fiction that my girlfriend really like.

You know what your getting from this, which is basically a teen wolf movie. As stated the acting isn't going to win an Oscar, but it decent enough for the budget and script given. The wolves are by far the best part. They are well made and aren't low budget at all, very good FX department. I would say you want a werewolf movie for the sake of that kind of movie then check this out. Jason plays his character well for this movie, not overly scary but you sure wont love him either. I would like to see a sequel to this that explain the history of the main blood lines and goes into that more. They can recast for that with no issues plot wise, which makes it an excellent jumping off point.

- AnecdotesDirector and writer David Hayter came up with the idea of the film after turning down similar projects. His script was originally titled "Slaughter's Road."
- GaffesWhen Cayden gets hit in mid air playing football he hits the ground and fumbles the ball. You can see the ball bouncing off in the background. When the camera switches angles you can now see Cayden has the football in his hands.
