Everyone Is Going to Die

Home invasion is probably my favorite type of horror/thriller movie ala The Strangers, Hush, You're Next, etc.... While you have to suspend reality in most horror movies the lead male Daniel was good in his role of being an jerk but you still pull for him (maybe until the end where subject matter turns a little dark). The antagonists do a good job of keeping the reason for the intrusion a secret while Daniel and his daughter wonder the whole time why this is happening. I do wish the invaders would have left masks on a little longer at first of movie for the creepy factor. All in all a decent movie that will keep your interest.

This is by far one of the the stupidest movies I've ever seen in my life. I am angry at myself for watching it to the end (I kept thinking it had to redeem itself somehow...spoiler...it doesn't!!)

It was boring, moronic, all over the place and what they felt was the big payoff made no sense and wasn't worth the time and effort it took to get there. It suffers from not one like able character so you never really care what happens to anyone and by the end you're totally fine if everyone died.

I truly believe to each their own in your movie tastes but this movie is just utter trash. No redeeming qualities and should be watched by NO ONE.

The Visitors is a fantastic film that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Jaime Winstone delivers a powerful and captivating performance that truly brings her character to life. The story unfolds with unexpected twists that keep you guessing, making it impossible to look away.

I was really impressed by the cinematography; the way the film was shot perfectly captures the mood and atmosphere, adding depth to the narrative.

Most importantly, the story itself is compelling and thought-provoking. It lingers with you long after the credits roll, making you reflect on the themes and emotions it explores. This film is a brilliant blend of suspense, emotion, and artistry that deserves to be seen by a wide audience.

I'm keeping my review spoiler free so I am going to be vague about a few things.

One thing I can be clear on though, is that the set-up works well. I was watching quite happily and was interested to see where it was going to go. But at some point it starts to come undone and one or two things in the script are badly handled and don't work at all.

Which is a shame because the acting is mostly fine. The directing is competent enough. The editing doesn't have any major issues. But the script ... the plot and the dialogue both needed a polish and an editor who would be listened to. As it stands, you're just left shaking your head as the end credits roll - disappointed that it botched it.

Shame.

Craig Tuohy's "Everyone Is Going to Die" (2024) attempts to deliver a darkly comedic or introspective look at mortality, but ultimately falls flat, delivering a lukewarm and utterly unmemorable cinematic experience. The film suffers from a severe lack of narrative focus, meandering aimlessly through its bleak premise without ever truly generating genuine emotional investment or compelling character development. The supposed "existential" dread feels more like a monotonous backdrop than a thought-provoking theme, lacking the raw power and presence necessary to engage the audience. Despite earnest efforts from the cast, the dialogue often feels sparse and functional, as if the writers simply strung together a series of melancholic scenes without any regard for natural conversation or a cohesive story. Instead of a fresh and impactful drama, it offers a superficial and often irritating spectacle of forced introspection.

Is it worth watching? No, unless you have an exceptionally high tolerance for slow pacing, underdeveloped characters, and a predictable narrative that offers little in the way of genuine insight or entertainment. There are far more engaging and genuinely moving dramas available.
