This is my first comment on IMDb. I registered here right after I came from the cinema, just to be able to say this: the movie is horrible! The only thing that kept me 'till the end was the ppl making funny comments during the movie. And the cool girl sitting next to me. The plot is horrible, directing is horrible, music is..., ah srry, there is no music, just some radio background noises from time to time. The acting is impossible to watch because of the stupidity of the plot. All the movie is made only from embarrassing and idiotic scenes. I don't understand why this movie had to be done and how can someone ever enjoy it. And why romanian directors are lacking completely that thing called imagination.
I'm not gonna bother myself with giving a detailed argumentation of why this movie is such a mess. It simply doesn't worth anyone's attention because it really doesn't seem to try to capture it. It's just another realistic movie... because that's exactly what the romanian cinema was missing, realism! We don't get enough of that in our REAL lives, we need realism in cinema too. The more real, the better. Imagination? In a romanian movie? Blasphemy!!! I rated it 2 and not 1 because we get to see Monica's behind; and when someone's rear end is the highlight of the movie... well I think that pretty much sums it up.
Congrats to the selection group for this year Bergen International Film Festival! Again great movies! Although the set up was not as good as in the last years (probably the crisis is to blame) but we had the chance to see some good movies. I saw "Francesca" and I am very impressed. The story is great and the actress is fantastic. She was present after the screening for the Q and A. Beside being very talented she is...very beautiful. The movie it is definitely a must see for cinema addicts. The story is about this Francesca, a kindergarden teacher which is trying to emigrate to Italy. What is very interesting about this movie is that it is not the usual emigration movie but talks about the decision making process that is behind this big step. It is very deep and very emotional. Beside being well played by all actors (check the bad guy), Francesca it is very sexy. Reminded me about Tornatore's Malena. Congrats!

I saw a lot of Romanian films, some good and some lesser, but almost all of them had this lack of naturalness... finally here is not the case! Then, the girl is playing 'big time'...the whole film is very well played, the whole cast. The film has 'minuses'...the 'sound' remain specific Romanian (i can't understand...i could do some better EQ), then, not a single true funny moment, which makes the film a little too bitter...but, finally, the girl is 'sweet enough'! anyway, despite the plot, I've remained with a 'good taste'. In conclusion, the film is not as much as a 'Romanian film', but a true European film... a 'must see'

I saw this movie at RIFF in Iceland. It is a great movie with a very good performance from all the actors. 'its like watching a reality show.... The story is very touching and the way it is shoot confirmed once again that Romanian cinema it is probably one of the best in the world at this time. Has a lot from the Italian "neorealism" but keeps its originality. It is very violent but not necessary as action but more from a situation point of view. It is not easy to explain, there is fear from the beginning to the end. I read that the film was banned at the festival in Venice were it had the world premiere. I don't really see the reason. Congrats to the team that made it! I understood that Cristi Puiu it is also involved. We love "Lasarescu" too! Puiu won in 2005 the best prize in Reykjavik. I think that in Romania they must have a great film school.
