This is a 26 minute short that's included on the "All About Eve" DVD. One odd thing I immediately noticed was that the color portions of the film were strange as the color saturation was out of whack. I don't know why and it really didn't effect the overall film.
For those not acquainted with the career and work of Joseph Mankiewicz, this is a nice introduction. It inspires interest in his films and also does NOT ignore his follies (the infamously expensive "Cleopatra"). He was very famous as a writer, producer and director--with several Oscars to his credits during his long career. However, because he was so incredibly important to the film industry and wore so many hats so well, it does seem a shame to cram all this into only 26 minutes. As a result, much of his work simply is ignored--including some excellent films. Instead, it focuses mostly on just a small handful of movies--in particular "All About Eve" and "Cleopatra". Still, despite being sketchy, it's well worth seeing.
