The cable network has ordered a series called Keeping Up With the Joneses from creators Hugh Davidson, Rachel Ramras and Larry Dorf. The 10-episode, half-hour show will chronicle the Newberry family of Dallas as they try to “keep up” with their staggeringly wealthy neighbors — including Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who lives next door. The animated version of Jones will be a character in the series (though voiced by an actor, not by Jones himself).

Adult Swim announced the series order at Annecy Animation Festival, where earlier in the week it revealed a two-season renewal for Smiling Friends.

In a series regular role, Parham will play Rudy Clay, Ali’s younger brother. In a recurring role, Ealy will (finally) play Malcolm X.

Following the end of Raising Voices, there had been some speculation of potential season 2 plans, but ultimately, most outlets landed on the series being a one-and-done situation. That said, Netflix uploaded the season with the “Season 1” label, as evidenced by the weekly top 10 reports for the series and on the tracker site NewonNetflix.info. Likewise, in checking all the pre-release materials for Raising Voices, there were no mentions of it being a limited series.

Apple TV+ has rounded out the main cast of its upcoming series adaptation of the Mick Herron novel “Down Cemetery Road.”

Adeel Akhtar, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Tom Goodman-Hill, Darren Boyd, Tom Riley, Adam Godley, Sinead Matthews, Ken Nwosu, Fehinti Balogun, and Aiysha Hart have all been cast in the series.

They will appear alongside previously announced leads Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson.

According to an announcement issued by Netflix on Wednesday, March 1, the star of such series as “Veronica Mars” and “The Good Place” has signed on for a new comedy for the streaming service.

The series was created by Erin Foster, daughter of Canadian uber-producer David Foster, whose behind-the-camera credits include working as staff writer on Ryan Murphy-produced sitcom “The New Normal”.

The series is described as “comedy centered on the unlikely relationship between an irreverent, outspoken, agnostic woman and an unconventional rabbi.” Bell will presumably be playing the woman, with the role of the rabbi yet to be cast.

Netflix has picked up a new comedy series starring Kristen Bell from writer Erin Foster and executive producer Steven Levitan, Variety has learned.

The untitled series is said to center on “the unlikely relationship between an irreverent, outspoken, agnostic woman (Bell) and an unconventional rabbi.”

Foster created the series and serves as an executive producer. Bell also executive produces in addition to starring. Levitan executive produces via Steven Levitan Productions (Slp). Craig Digregorio, Sara Foster, and Danielle Stokdyk also executive produce. Oly Obst and Josh Lieberman are executive producers for 3 Arts. 20th Television will produce in association with Slp, with the company currently under an overall deal at the studio.

The Frozen and The Good Place actress will star in an untitled show from creator Erin Foster (Barely Famous) and executive producer Steven Levitan (Modern Family, Reboot) about “the unlikely relationship between an irreverent, outspoken, agnostic woman and an unconventional rabbi,” per the show’s logline. Bell will play the agnostic woman and also serve as an executive producer.

The series is the second at Netflix for Bell, who also starred in the streamer’s thriller parody The Woman in the House Across the Street From the Girl in the Window last year.

Bell is coming off Amazon’s feature film The People We Hate at the Wedding and will be part of the voice cast for an upcoming Paw Patrol movie. Her credits also include Queenpins, Hulu’s Veronica Mars revival and the Bad Moms movies.

Starz’s Power Book II: Ghost will return for a fourth season. The network announced the early renewal of the critically acclaimed drama ahead of its season three premiere on March 17, 2023.

Per Starz: “Ealy joins the cast as Detective Don Carter, a rising NYPD officer who was on track to become Police Commissioner until his wife was killed in a crossfire between rival drug gangs. Netflix's The Woman in the House Across The Street From the Girl in the Window is a spoof of thrillers, and though the town of Canterbury Hill may be fictional, the series was filmed in a few idyllic locations. Anna Whitaker (Kristen Bell) doesn't leave her house much after a tragedy, and she begins to think that her neighbor has been killed. While much of the miniseries takes place inside Anna's house, Anna spends time in other locations, like a grocery store and a neighbor's home. She also goes to a lighthouse and an elementary school in the hopes of finding answers.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness took home the top award of the night at the 2022 People’s Choice Awards for best movie of the year.

The Adam Project, Top Gun: Maverick and Don’t Worry Darling received prizes for top comedy, action and drama movies, respectively, with Stranger Things, Grey’s Anatomy and Never Have I Ever taking the event’s top television awards.

Taylor Swift won best female artist, best album for Midnights and best music video for “Anti-Hero,” while Harry Styles took home the award for best male artist and BTS for best music group. Lizzo, Carrie Underwood, Becky G and Latto were also recognized for their music.

Kenan Thompson hosted the awards, which aired live from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica Tuesday and celebrated the best in movies, TV, music and pop culture.

As a kid, fashion and home designer Jenni Kayne used to visit the Santa Ynez Valley with her family. “I have such amazing memories of summers and long weekends there,” says Kayne regarding the wine-growing region northwest of the city of Santa Barbara.

The series drew six total nominations, the most nominations for a TV series.

ABC's Abbott Elementary and Grey's Anatomy, NBC's Law & Order: Svu and Saturday Night Live, and Netflix's Stranger Things, all scored four nominations apiece.

House of the Dragon secured three nominations, and it will face off against Prime Video's The Lord of the Rings the Rings of Power in one of the most important categories.

The awards ceremony is set to air Tuesday, December 6 at 9/8c, on NBC and E!

Kenan Thompson is set to host.

Voting begins today, October 26, and concludes Wednesday, November 9.

The Netflix action-comedy series “Obliterated” from the creators of “Cobra Kai” has found its first two cast members, Variety has learned.

Nick Zano and Shelley Henig are set to star in the series, which was picked up at Netflix in May after having originally been ordered to series at TBS.

The show tells the story of an elite special forces team who thwarts a deadly threat to Las Vegas. After their celebratory party, filled with booze, drugs and sex, the team discovers that a bomb they deactivated was a fake. The now intoxicated team has to fight through their impairments, overcome their personal issues, find the real bomb, and save the world.

Exclusive: Emmy nominated actor Cameron Britton and Mike Birbiglia have joined the cast of Sf Studios’ A Man Called Otto, starring Tom Hanks. Marc Forster will direct with two-time Oscar nominee David Magee adapting the screenplay from Fredrik Backman’s comical 1# New York Times Bestseller A Man Called Ove – with the titular character being renamed to reflect the shift to an American setting. Britton and Birbiglia join a cast that already includes Mariana Treviño, Rachel Keller and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo are also on board

Fredrik Wikström Nicastro of Sf Studios is producing the film with Rita Wilson and Hanks and his Playtone partner Gary Goetzman. Forster and Renée Wolfe will serve as executive producer via their production company 2DUX2. Sf Studios is also fully financing the project. Magee is also executive producing.

Sony Pictures will release the film in theaters on December 25, 2022.
