Avis à la une
After his father's funeral, a man takes his girlfriend back to his childhood home to spend some time there before it's sold with a party involving them and his old friends, but when they start to suspect something dark from his past has returned to seek revenge forces them to stop it from happening.
This was a fairly fun if somewhat flawed genre effort. Among the best features here is how this one sets about going for a series of supernatural shenanigans to make what's happening quite surprising and shocking. The main idea of trying to uncover the truth about what happened at the house that gets unlocked while the group is in the middle of their party but aren't aware of the possession that's starting up to ensure the revenge is complete makes the film come off quite fun once these incidents start to take place. From haunting whispers in their ear, hallucinations involving figures coming to life to attack them, and the eventual realization that the possession has taken place makes everything else that happens in the house come together into a strong series of frantic encounters as the supernatural deaths provide some great cheesy, gory deaths alongside the frantic chasing with the impressive make-up on the possessed. This all gives the film some fine positives to hold it up overall while there are some big issues with this one holding it back. One of the main factors with this one is the absolutely dire pacing that makes everything feel so dull and boring waiting for something to happen. While the group arrives at the house fairly early and manages to instigate the party soon after, the amount of time spent on this material makes for a dull time waiting on these fairly uninteresting rich people wandering around this large mansion waiting for something to happen to them. The usual outsider who doesn't fit in with his established group of friends, the rich barely able to contain their contempt for her being of a lower class than she is, and the seemingly obvious secrets that arrive which are fairly obvious to guess what's going on yet never initiate any kind of panic in anyone. Hardly any of this is interesting and just makes for an overlong start getting this one going. Once this gets established, the film highlights yet another irritating and common trope with the way this takes place in a realm of untrustworthy friends trying to uncover a dark secret. The way it works is the trope of her not being able to get a hold of the group of friends around her when it's revealed that they've been involved in covertly drugging her to throw the idea of her prognosis into question so that the hauntings she keeps trying to bring up have a sense of doubt so that they can keep the horrifying event in their past a secret which only makes everything that happens to her come from a source of disbelieving significant other who treats them like a nervous wreck. It doesn't make them endearing at all, and combined together make for the factors that bring this one together.
Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Violence, Graphic Language, and drug use.

The movie was very well executed and good. I don't like scary movies, I am more of comedy and Roman e but I really enjoyed it. I think the producers did a great job with the casting. This scenes look very realistic, and you can see that they put a lot of work into it. Love the actors like Emily, Mia and specially Nico play by Gonzalo. My favorite character was Nico it had the entire room laughing, with us crazy because the guys is not the nicest person. The humor and how it was delivered was on pint. Looking forward to the next movie .I definitely recommend the movie it was a nice story , production, scenery and some comedy.
This Never Happened has all the ingredients for a typical horror movie: attractive actors, booze, Paraphernalia, giant mansion and a ghost story. I want to point out the very divergent cast of the movie. They all have a unique look and fresh faces. Emily interpreted by Maria Jose De La Cruz is the perfect hybrid between an LA girl and a Mexico City Chcik, Ale played by Juana Serrano a hot bi*ch, Mia played by Vanessa Burciaga is awkward, corny and cute. And finally the boys: Mateo played by Javier Dulzaides is a bi polar rich kid; while Nico is so easy to hate, love and pity. Melora by Andrea is so cringy she's funny and relatable and the witch played by Fernanda is so cringey satisfying to watch. While the actors are attractive they have a natural beauty. They aren't plastic therefore they are relatable. Back to the story, TNH is the perfect whitexican gone wrong and wild. The movie is slow at first only focusing on the main characters but it picks up after about 25 minutes. Full of jump scares, good kills and an interesting plot twist. Can't give it a 10 because there are some editing errors in key moments. Other than that, the movie is a is pretty entertaining and enjoyable.
It shocks me that Tubi keeps taking huge strides to improving their quality. This Never Happened is an example of that. The cinematography of this movie is great! The acting performances have also improved a lot. I will admit the English of some characters is off but I think Tubi is doing a great job of including diversity into their roster. At the end of the day there are rich kids in Mexico who speak English even amongst them selves. It's actually a joke trending on social media "whitexicans" Mexicans who can speak perfect Spanish but chose to speak English to show off. The make up is fantastic. The kills are nice and clean. This Never Happened is definitely an original movie. It's low budget yea... we know and I think they allocated the budget perfectly.
Perfect for a movie night! Just finished it! Highly recommend it! Don't watch it alone hahaha. Honestly a lot of new characters I've never seen but really enjoyed the plot, great mix of feelings and emotions. It's not for my 4 year old to watch but definitely fun and exciting and scary. Super smooth flow through the film. I feel like the start was a tad bit slow for my liking but when it picks up, it picks up! The final part was my favorite! I don't want to spoil anything here in this review so hopefully I can see others reviews later next week to see what they thought! Very well done job, I'm a fan of some of the characters now! THIS NEVER HAPPENED is definitely worth the watch!
