Good Night, and Good Luck.

Broadway at it's best! This show could not be more timely, and it was a bold move for CNN to make this viewable without a paywall or cable subscription. Excellently talented cast, musical interludes, with set and costume that really sold the time period. I don't want to give away anything not mentioned in promos, but know that this particular play is based on real people and true events in history that nevertheless speak to our present day dilemma. I don't know if it will be watchable again on HBO MAX or CNN, but I do hope one of them will have the recording for people who missed it for work shifts.

Without a doubt, this play - this event - was THE best use of broadcast television in very long time. Although the script was written 20 years ago, it is still relevant to the state we find ourselves in today. Stellar, resonating performances will be remembered as will the overall message of holding onto your beliefs, standing up for those beliefs, and not being afraid to live that truth in the face of those that seek to tear us apart with the falsehoods created only to serve their own self interests. Everyone across the globe needs to see this broadcast, and take its lessons to heart. We need this now more than ever. Thank you so very much, Mr. Clooney!

Good Night, and Good Luck is a slow, self-important film that tries too hard to be profound. Clooney's direction feels stiff, and the black-and-white aesthetic comes off more as a stylistic gimmick than a meaningful choice. The pacing drags, the characters lack emotional depth, and the story-though historically significant-feels distant and uninvolving. Despite its ambitions, it fails to connect, making for a dull, forgettable watch masked as prestige cinema.

To take on McCarthy-to tell the truth about what he was doing-took true courage. Murrow was a genuine journalist, someone who put the truth out there and let people form their own opinions. There are so many moments that predict the horror that "news" shows have become. When reporters should be covering facts, they are usually editorializing and calling it news. There many more moments that mirror our troubled times, where a voice of dissent is threatened and ridiculed instead of applauded. This should be required viewing for all journalism students-and all Fox "News" viewers. Bravo, Mr. Clooney!
