Avis à la une
"Mission Majnu," an espionage romantic thriller on Netflix, is based on true events from the 1970s when Pakistan was secretly developing a nuclear bomb. The film follows Indian spies' efforts to uncover this clandestine operation.
The story centers on Amandeep Singh, who, under the alias Tariq, poses as a tailor and falls in love with a local blind girl, Nasreen. His mission is to locate Pakistan's secret nuclear facility and halt the bomb-making process.
While the plot is somewhat predictable, the lead actors' performances, along with the narration, tight screenplay, and execution, make it a thoroughly engaging movie. Siddharth Malhotra's portrayal of his character is particularly commendable. Kumud Mishra and Shabir Hashmi also deliver excellent performances, and Rashmika Mandanna convincingly plays the protagonist's blind love interest and wife. Some scenes are genuinely moving. The songs are well-placed and enjoyable, though the background score could have been better. The cinematography is good, though not exceptional. Despite a few moments where the film loses momentum, debut director Shantanu Bagchi has crafted an engaging espionage thriller, even if there are areas for improvement.

While through the user reviews I find lots of Osman and Farhan giving it just 1 star and it makes you wonder whose side are they. The director has obviously taken liberties in the name of entertainment. But the fact behind the movie can't be ignored completely. The spy war is an ongoing thing between the two neighboring countries.

Acting is good by the lead actors. Story is well written.

The stories inspired from real life is always interesting to watch as it makes you connect with it more. At the same time, it is important for makers to depict it properly as there would not be other chance to tell the same story.
During the India Pakistan war 1971, story of an undercover RAW agent, Tariq, as Tailor in Pakistan stalls the attempt of Pakistan in becoming a nuclear power nation. How he and likewise him puts their life at risk to bust Pakistan's futile attempt.
Right on, story jumps into the main crux of the story and start establishing characters in between which saves lot of time. The way how Tariq deciphers small clues to accomplish his mission is interesting to watch but at many a times it looks childish. The screenplay is weak as viewer you never get the edge of the seat thrilling moments except at climax. Also, the struggle of agents doesn't come across well.
Sidharth Malhotra for a change had acted well and fits the role. Rashmika Mandanna as blind girl is convincing as many a times in other movies too she looks blind at times. Kumud Mishra and Sharib Hashmi gets their character well and executes it to perfection. Shantanu Bagchi must be given credit for pulling out best performances from all of his cast members.
It is understandable that as it is a real story there are limitations to exaggerate but it's movie at the end of the day and if needed masala needs to be added to make the narrative interesting. Rabba Janda is a nice track and would stay with you for long and no other track is memorable. The set design is just mind boggling as you will feel you are teleported to Pakistan.
With such charged up movie in patriotism, you don't get that feeling at all. What Raazi could achieve it couldn't do it especially in the department of triggering the emotions.
It can be watched to understand how many martyrs sacrificed their life for us to enjoy our life. Salute to all those who serve our nation unconditionally even without any fame and even money at large. #pranureviews #MissionMajnu #MissionMajnuReview.

Weak script, too slow, mediocre acting and so many illogical scenes.
How come a movie contains so many illogical scenes and still netflix is buying this kind of movies?
If you are a person who like spy movies/series and expect to get blown away by spy like skills, then this movie is not for you. 30minutes in the movie and it will bore the heck out of you. You will feel cheated for the time you are planning to spend on this movie.
You not only wll be disappointed but will definitely get angry with this mockery.
Good that this movie is released in netflix otherwise viewers would have hated spending money on multiplexes.

This is a propaganda movie. What is important is that it is a poorly made propaganda movie. Likely based on real life events but it is glorified so much that it loses meaning. Espionage is a tough business consisting of much pain but this movie tries to sell it as super heroic. Mandhana didn't good job of portraying a blind girl. Siddharth who I think is a good actor didn't really sell his character where he is hated by most people who know him and he can't share who he is with one person he loves. Overly jingoistic and looks far removed from reality. Supporting actors did a good job in my opinion. I wanted to like this movie but just couldn't.
