Worst game in an otherwise great series

I've played through most of the games but this is one I had missed and given the complex story figured I should play through. Wish I hadn't the combat system is a neat idea and would work in a turn based game but combat is too fast paced for the cars gimmick to work. Most of the levels are revisits from the first game but with new stories. Sad thing is this game is important to the story overall so if you're looking to understand things more it's needs a play through. After 15 hours and getting stuck at one boss I gave up abs decided to just a play though instead to catch up on the story. Incredibly frustrating experience and definitely not for casual gamers.

    Card Games With Memory Loss

To combine card game mechanics with action combat, how does it hold up today, let's find out.

All the difficulty is in the Beginning, because the moment you get certain card combination like Sonic blade or Lethal Frame, then game is over.

It is fun to create deck getting new cards ,but defeating heartless feels like a waste of time, become kind of tedious efter two of more levels. Another Problem is the bosses get higher numbers but they don't get new strategies and you get so overpowered strategies that they can't fight back.

Riku is a fun challenge mode. He plays completely different and asked you to play the game by his rules and it's a fun challenge. There's almost no healing the mickey card takes so long to do the thing, that most boss fights I have no healing. But luckily riku is strong so if You Play Your Cards Right you can kill them before they kill you.

I enjoyed the story even if it most of it is in a boring white corridors, I enjoy the teasing and Mind funk. Sora keeps being one of the nicest, most native and lovable main characters. But now a girl around he's getting angry, and all his interaction with nanine is gold.

Riku just get the best part, he's is basically look at all he actions. He did in kingdom Hearts 1 , and see the consequences. It's about growing and finding your own path.

I have some complaints about this game, because I have played it many times now. But I have played it many times. I returned to this game even through I know there are so many janke parts. It is a unique experience, and we are still in Kingdom Heart Story Before it got too entangled in its own Lore. It is also a short experience soar campaign takes around 10 to 12 hours and riku takes 5 to 6.

I really enjoyed the story and half the gameplay.

Sora kind of tedious but riku never because doll, It's always a fight with Survival with him.

Like riku would say, this game smells good.

An awesome mixup to the series.

Story is good, boss fights are difficult and epic, and with a little practice the combat becomes very rewarding. I can 100% guarantee you that the people complaining about the combat are just bad at it.

Poor combat system reduces fun of the second entry

I really enjoyed the first Kingdom Hearts game and then I looked forward to the second game in the series; however, when I began playing it, there seemed to be something off. Like I was missing what was going on. Come to find out, this game, which is not part two, but at the same time is, has things that happen within that are essential to understanding just what the heck is going on in part two. I simply quit playing part two because of this and never really found this entry until it was released on the PS4 along with the first two games. Suffice to say, it does fill me in on what is going on and the story is somewhat interesting, but the combat system is a big old pain to learn and figure out.

The story picks up where the first game left off as Sora, Donald and Goofy are trying to get Pluto. They end up at a castle and enter and soon find themselves back in Traverse Town, only something is not quite right. Seems the castle they are in rearranges memories and thus, as you go forward, your mind begins to forget a lot of things. Soon, the gang find themselves revisiting many of the worlds they entered and sealed on a quest to figure out what is going on, who are the mysterious figures clad in black robes and to figure out the relationship between Sora and a strange girl named Namine.

The main problem with the game is the game play itself. A bit tedious as all you do is go through this room to that and go through very brief storyboards. The combat is a strange mix of real time fighting and card battling and it is very annoying. I am guessing I am not the only one who disliked this portion of the game, because as far as I know, this is the only Kingdom Hearts game that uses this messed up battling system. It is just really annoying trying to pick cards while simultaneously trying to avoid the enemy and sometimes having to jump and hit certain points on the enemy. Just an all around annoying combat system that really brings this game down a notch or two.

So, it was not all bad as it did fill in the gaps, but the game play is not really all that great. Very tedious, very monotonous and at times a bit frustrating too. So far the best game I have played in the series is the first one, I did manage to get far in the second game, but did not win it. Going to give it another go shortly and see if maybe it will be a bit more fun with some of the strange plot points covered now that I have played this game. Just wish they would stick to keeping the story within the main series of game and stop making all these in between games.

      [Riku's story - Reverse / Rebirth]

King Mickey Mouse: Your darkness belongs to you, just the same way your light does. Up till now, I thought darkness was something that should never exist. Then I spent time with you and changed my mind. The road you chose - I didn't know. Light and dark, back to back. With you, I think they might meet in a way nobody's seen before. Wonder where that road leads. I'd like to see myself.

      Riku: Hm?

King Mickey Mouse: I'd like to walk the road with ya'.

      Riku: Eh heh.

      [They shake on it]

Riku: Your majesty, I'm really flattered. I don't know what to say.

King Mickey Mouse: Gosh, Riku. Ya' know, you don't have to call me that now. We're pals.

      Riku: Fair enough, Mickey.

[the two exit Castle Oblivion and walk along a grassy path, finding two roads and Diz]

Riku: What are you making me choose now?

DiZ: Between the road to light and the road to darkness.

Riku: Neither suits me. I'm taking the middle road.

DiZ: Do you mean the twilight road to nightfall?

Riku: No. It's the road to dawn.
