Picture My Face: The Story of Teenage Head

We are eager to say "we don't choose our family." Well, four boys from Hamilton Ontario Canada in fact did choose their family and it was called Teenage Head. This documentary was more than just about the punk music scene. Good Lewis (Guitarist), Steve Marshall (Bass), Nick Stipanitz (Drums), and the magnetic Lead Singer Frankie Venom (Kerr), found each other in the 1970's at Westdale High School in Hamilton and became a beloved musical institution for over 4 decades. They became brothers - family. This band was on the precipice of fame - but - life and tragedy derailed what should have been Teenage Head's leaving an historic mark on the world of punk music. Even through the tragic accidents - the death of their beloved brother Frankie Venom - Teenage Head's music will live forever.

Picture My Face captures the essence of Hamilton Ontario in the 70s and 80s PERFECTLY, The lumberjack jackets (Hamilton Dinner Jacket), the bleak snow, Westdale Secondary School, Victoria Park, Gage Park, driving down King St West toward Christ the King Church, 900 CMH, TiCats at Tim Horton's Field (prev Ivor Wynne), Stelco, Dofasco, OMG this is so good. It deals very well with Gord Lewis' depression after Frankie's passing. The poor fellow just suffered. And that's depression for ya. Having attended Westdale just after these guys left, EVERYONE had their albums. Mega popular. Some kids from Westdale caused a riot in Tronna! How cool is that?? What a great.film. This Documentary made my day!! I grew up in the 80's,Teenage Head was one of my favourite Bands. I lived in small town Ontario Canada!! I still listen to their music!! It is Wonderful to watch, it made me Nostalgic!! Happy and sad, but so Heartfelt! My Heart goes out to Gordie!! Keep Rocking Guys!!! Love from a longtime fan, Christine Brunton.
