A unique spectacle

I've known "The Jam: That's Entertainment" for quite some time, as it's a great rock song that departures from the usual style of the genre: prominent bass, acoustic guitar and some percussion usage. Knowing about such setting but seeing the video and its composition makes things quite interesting.

Paul Weller and troupe are filmed inside a dark set performing the song, and the lights coming and going, shadowing and lighting their faces and movements gives an air of mystery to the band, and you get to see an electrifying act from them despite not being your typical powerful song and sound. Weller's descriptions of a common day and common events that are perceived as entertainment is something unique, brilliantly written and performed. Simplicity can be an entertaining spectacle. 8/10.
