Avis à la une
Filmmaker Peter Anthony has put together a film which continues the story of telekinetic teen Tina Shepard. He introduces a new character, Rose, who has her own dark past and must combine her powers with Tina's to fight the immortal Jason Voorhees.
With cameos from original cast members Terry Kiser and Kevin Spirtas, "Rose Blood" jumps back and forth through time to tell Tina's story.
Jason Brooks is awesome as the heir apparent to Kane Hodder. The kills in this film are brutal and worthy of anything in the "Friday the 13th" franchise.
Congratulations to all involved in putting together this labor of love.

This is amazing for a small budget independent fan film. It feels like a big studio movie. At times I almost forgot I was watching a F13 movie. The characters are so well written and the story keeps you intrigued unil the third act payoff.
Plot
Takes place 13 months after Friday The 13th Part VII. We follow Tina Shepard as she is held and studied at the infamous Camp Crystal Lake Research Facility. Tina realizes that she is not alone. There in fact is another New Blood. Rose.
Cast
Friday 13th stars Lar Park-Lincoln (Tina) and Kevin Spirtas (Nick return) to reprise their roles as does Terry Kiser as Dr Crews. We also have the dreadful Sanae Loutsis who can also oddly be seen in the fellow Friday 13th fan films Friday 13th Vengeance 1 & 2.
Verdict
It wasn't until I decided to binge watch all the Friday 13th fan films that I realized a number of things. First of all, there are plenty of them! Second, how weirdly incestuous they all are, you'll notice how many are connected in some way whether it be cast or the creators. Such as the director of one series of them will be the producer of others. Next how many manage to get official Friday 13th cast members involved, that is impressive. And finally how weirdly shilled they all are on IMDB, it seems consistent cross the board from the Vengeance movies to the Never Hike Alone ones and beyond.
The trouble is not that they vary in quality, but that most are really quite terrible despite many having a fair few things going for them such as the original cast members.
Rose Blood digs deep with the nostalgia and clear love for the franchise, I love the fact we have a young Creighton Duke here, I appreciate their decision to follow on from Friday 13th: New Blood, I think there are elements here that really work but sadly there are just too many that don't.
Jason's body looks absurd, the bones just don't look even remotely passable. The acting is spotty, and when it's bad it's really bad. Sanae Loutsis is the worst actress, truly needs lessons or to move into a different career! The writing is hokey, the kills are questionable and it just doesn't flow nor feel like the companion piece it's clearly supposed to be.
And then there is the "Twist" the big shock appearance later in the film which though on paper is a fans wet dream, feels forced, rushed and just doesn't work in the slightest.
I'd say nice attempt, but I'd be giving too much credit. The best I can do is say it's not the worst fan film out there, not even close.
Rants
I'd love an explanation behind how interconnected all these Friday 13th fan films are. I'd love to know how they manage to get all these original movie stars to be involved. I'd love to know why Loutsis thinks she's an actress. I'd love to know why they're consistently shilled (And why the creators get so upset when called out on it). I doubt I'll ever get the answers, but doesn't stop making me wonder.
Breakdown
Feels like a love letter to the fans Some great nods to previous films Some original cast members Weak acting Some questionable decisions Jason looks hokey Sanae Loutsis is just dreadful.

Though influenced by the earlier film, Writer-Director PetervAnthony reworks many of the original elements and comes up with a surprisingly relevant take on the gaps in the story from other F13 films. This is an excellent adaption of F13 Part 7: wholly original, modernized, and thrilling. We can't wait to see what this director and cast do next.
After a good trailer we have another fan made chapter to add to the amazing fan made F13th films with this being a continuation of Tina Shepards character from part 7 The New Blood for those not aware which timeline to follow to go into this with an idea as to why she is what she is. Anyways like any other fan made film we aren't going to get top notch on everything. But what they had to work with I thought they done a pretty good job with this. Like "Never Hike Alone" before it we get caught up with what Tina and a few more characters you have to watch so I dont go into spoiler territory for us older fans who's happy to get some sort of continuation on some of the chapters from part 7 as well as a guest cameo. All in all I'm not a movie reviewer or anything. Just a 40 year old guy who's still happy to still be getting stuff like this after 40 years of it and hoping we get to see a continuation of where this is going. All in all if your a fan of the series in general give this one a whirl. If not and just getting into them I HIGHLY suggest trying out the originals beforehand so you can get an idea as to who and what they are. Stuff like this is always a fun watch to someone like me because it feels like something we would've all been discussing what we might do if we had a chance to make this film. So let's give this one as well as the others the support and criticism they need so that they can keep making more for us. Happy Hunting gang and hope Jason Haunts your Nightmares.

- AnecdotesActor Jason Brooks suffered multiple injuries on set. including metal fragments in his eye, a fractured forearm, severed fingers and eye damage from a lens. He never missed a single shot.
- GaffesThe Generals eye patch was also lost/delayed with a skid shipment being late and misplaced. Hence the story of the General hurting is eye had to be added to the script so he could then wear it.
