Avis à la une
I started this expecting more unrelenting sex and dick jokes that Netflix's adult animation tv shows consist of, but what I got was something really refreshing.
The tv show has a genuine story, has its own humour, and you really don't know what's coming next from episode to episode. The humour isn't quite to the cackles I had watching the first part of inside job, but again the intriguing story really sets it apart as something that needs to be watched.
I don't really have anything else to say, just making up the rest of the word count, but definitely give it a go. Really hoping they don't decide to cancel it!

I recently watched the show and I must express my utter disbelief in the rating it has received on Netflix as suitable for 12+. This marks my very first attempt at writing a review, and the reason behind it is simple: I am utterly appalled.
The content presented in the show feels far more suited for a mature audience, at the very least 16+. The themes and situations tackled are undeniably adult and intricate. It boggles my mind that a thirteen-year-old child would be exposed to such content. In my opinion, this is an issue that demands immediate attention, as the current classification is nothing short of inappropriate.

I so enjoyed this series. Watched all 10 episodes in two binge sessions. Reminds me of Archer. Dark humor mixed with absurdist situations. I had no idea that the producers are also responsible for Norsemen one of my other comedy favorites.
The premise here: a global criminal enterprise headed by a James Bondian villain, Mr. Tyrant, is using a luxury cruise ship to carry out its nefarious objectives, e.g. Human trafficking to stock a human zoo; slaughter of tigers to make a powerful, dangerous ED treatment; kidnapping and body parts harvesting of albinos for good luck charms; a deal for a child-army to protect an illegal Chinese mining colony -- minerals for green EVs! -- in Africa.
To further this enterprise our villain has his people recruit the dumbest most gullible ship's captain on earth: Captain Fall. The good captain is surrounded by sociopaths, mercenaries, and plain old criminals, but he is oblivious to their schemes and his being framed.
Despite their bad behavior, the characters are likable / relatable in a strange, adult-cartoon sort of way. I am looking to know more about their backgrounds in what I hope is season 2. It's a great ensemble cast.
As for the plot, well, it's involved and veers this way and that. There is plenty of un-PC situations and funny stereotypes in each episode so that's a plus.
The dialog is filled with dry humor. Some of it reminds me of the banter from Norsemen. The characters often reveal themselves to be overly self-involved and unfocused on the task at hand. My fave: a short scene where two Norwegians who have escaped from a human zoo in the wilds of Africa debate about how and when, and what it should look like when they head in to a nearby city and return to civilization.
Now this series is not for everyone. Send the kids to bed, for sure. Lots of violence and sexual situations. The swingers club episode is particularly graphic and the dialog explicit, X-rated I suspect.
I watch very few adult cartoons so I am viewing this with a different lens than most reviewers here. But for me this was great fun. Kudos to Jon Iver Helgaker and Jonas Torgersen the producers / creators and Netflix for buying.

Recently I feel like a lot of the animated shows (Especially on Netflix) are just somewhat unoriginal or just boring. And I thought this would not be different, however I was gladly mistaken. Captain fall excels at having an engaging storyline and fun characters. Which I am surprised about as from the first episode I thought that fall looked like a boring uninspired character, however as the show progressed I began to like him more and more. Unlike in other animated TV shows like 'Farzar' where I just hated the protagonist more and more. As for the tone and theme it's awesome and feels like Archer, which is one of my all time favourites. It's also worth mentioning that it is not super funny considering it's a comedy however that does not matter as the story is engaging enough. And it did have a couple of laugh out loud moments. All in all it's a great show and I highly recommend watching it.
Well I did not see this coming.
I can't really explain what it is. It is not laugh-out-loud funny. But it was a cathartic experience for me. If you are tired of the mind-numbing idiocy all around the world, and would want to have a beer with Dan Harmon and the ghost of George Carlin as they brutally mock them all, well, this show gets you partway there.
Bloody-handed Russian oligarchs, shameless oil sheikhs, clueless Scandinavians, insufferable middle-aged married couples that you hate on TV, none are safe.... from savage mockery.
I expect the average viewers will not be able to appreciate this. I hope Netflix knew that when they signed up for this show, and keep new seasons coming regardless.
