Avis à la une
This is a fun show to watch, the chefs are excellent, its fun to see them struggle through the skills tests, and i just love the hosts, they are for the most part positive, supportive, encouraging and helpful as opposed the somewhat angrier meaner hosts in the versions from other countries.
They are currently in the 14th season, I'm not sure why the IMDB has not updated this show since season 11.

I used to love MasterChef until Gaston was unfairly eliminated. The show will capture cookery in two parts but the final decision doesn't consider both cooking sessions. Gaston's cooking was exceptional for the michellin star professionals and George's fish was undercooked. This round wasn't even considered in the final decision which is terrible. This whole show is completely unfairly judged as they only consider the final cookery round despite there being other challenges including chefs table, pop up cooking etc. Gaston didn't have a single error until the final cooking round and all rounds should be considered when sending chefs home. I also feel that innovation, creativity and the ability to be unique isn't considered when deciding who to eliminate. Gaston is an incredibly unique chef and has the ability to quickly think on his feet and deliver something exceptionally unique. He doesn't stick to just simple foods and flavours like a lot of the other chefs. This was a really hard watch as it was completely unfair and I won't be watching MasterChef again.
Would be better without the host Greg. He's annoying with the silly facial expression and when he opens his mouth! Can be arrogant at times when timekeeping. Judges are good and premise of the show. Some of the critics need to go and be replaced.
2 guest judges, five equal votes with a blind tasting/voting for the final cook off. Only fair way to do it. It is too painfully obvious who the teacher's pets are(I do love the show either way). They should go from 0% blind judging to 80% (at least) with guest judges to round out the favoritism. A great chef could be a judge's pet, but is that fair to the other great chefs that are competing? And this pandering to the cooks!! 15 mins over time on a one hour cook- that's a 25% increase in the amount of time that you get to create your dish. I bet the other chefs would love to have a 25% increase in their time as well to polish their dish. 1 min. over and you should be automatically disqualified, kicked off, period. The other chefs brought their dishes in on time, why give one or two chef's 25% more time when other chef's didn't get that favoritism????? Why give a one hour/3 hr time limit(or whatever limit) then not follow through with it. Oh, it's OK if you break the rules, you're my favorite...
What on earth have I just watched?!
I started watching this show after it came to Netflix UK, and only gave it a 4 for the effort of the contestants.
If I were a professional chef, I'd never take part in this programme. All the "chef" judges do nothing but mocking, needling, and putting the contestants down. These people you judge are professionals already, and it must have taken a big heart and courage to be there for them. You cannot tell them off just because they didn't drizzle lemon to a sauce as you'd have done.
Besides, what is the deal with these replication part of the contest? It is only and only a "self-satisfaction" to the chef judge. Even if a classic, you can still make a dish via different ways. They don't have to make it in the exact same way as you do. It should be fine as long as the dish looks and tastes fine.
What's with these peculiar looks, judgemental staring, and implied questions on top of everything else? I especially disliked that part. A pastry chef tries to unskin a fish before you for the first time, and all you do is weirdest mimics and disgusted looks in your face. Then after this person wasn't successful enough in your eyes, you ask what went wrong. Well, let me tell you, you went wrong. And these people have nothing to learn from you. Go, human up guys, seriously.
