Mike Barkhoff's debut feature film produced and released entirely when he was 18.
Released in 5 parts, each with commercial segments at the end of them. These were removed for the Bonus Track Edition.
Shares it's title with Eminem's debut album.
Originally written as a short film that followed a similar story to the Eminem track "My Fault".
Many characters wear shirts that reference a specific pop culture medium that aligns with their character (in terms of story line, attitude, etc.). Barkhoff deliberately decided to do this fairly early into filming when his actors asked him what he wanted them to wear. The idea behind it was to cap off the fact that there was no censorship within this film. Primary examples include:
Joey Evans wearing Star Wars and Breaking Bad shirts numerous times. His story parallels that of Breaking Bad and his lack of parental guidance correlates with Luke Skywalker's upbringing in Star Wars. Lucas wearing an Alien shirt in most notable scenes of his - this factor makes Lucas' lack of loyalty more knowing.
