Six college students from Kolkata take a trip to Madhupur in Bihar to mark the end of their academic course, a few of them trying to forge romantic relationships for the future and have a good time. Hailing from different backgrounds and with diverse interests, their holiday starts off well but doesn't really go according to plans, culminating in their beating a hasty retreat. Six years later, the same six friends return to the same venue for a reunion with the motive of celebrating the engagement of one of the girls in the group. To relive their experience, they take to playing the game of Mafia (also known as Assassins to some of us) and suddenly, acrimony and bitterness set in, laying bare their contempt and dislike for some and loyalty to some others.
At the same time, the forest starts playing out a string of events that cut off the inhabitants of the already isolated bungalow from contact with the outside, and suddenly, their lives are threatened. While they turn upon one another with accusations and slander, their past comes haunting them, forcing a recount and admissions from the last time they were there at the venue.
Mafia is a suspenseful, gripping and engaging drama with developments occurring at a cracking pace, leaving no time for introspection. The story charts lust, power, drugs, alcohol and other vices, highlighting the moral decadence of values and culture. The fine thread of friendship doesn't stand a chance to combat the dark forces of the mind and pure evil takes over. The free use of cuss words and raw language to communicate amongst the friends makes it somewhat jarring to endure the proceedings of this otherwise nail biting series.

The theme of the piece is indeed a strong message which it stands on. But the script and direction is haywire and is trying to do a lot. Sometimes with some unnecessary sleaze scenes or may be over the top abuse which felt out of place and for heck of it.
Acting of all patrons are not up to mark. The twists in story are very amateurish. The snatching of gun scenes are too funny and fail miserably as twist/ suspense/ action.
Most of the actors, especially the male actors looked very amateurish. Also the story plot is very loosely based on a strong theme which was loosely executed.
The script had a lot of influence from thriller movies we have seen in recent times. Lacked freshness despite a relatively fresh cast.
Could have been better.

Very low budget series. Even acting was sub standard forget about the direction. The story was good but direction and acting ruined it . Looks like some 3rd class low budget series. Don't know why zee5 have this much budget constraint.
Positive side is story and Namit Das acting but negative sides are direction , acting , screenplay .
'Mafia' is all about six college friends reunite after 5 years for a bachelorette party. Beautiful story!

Worth watching! The concept has turned an idyllic trip into a dangerous cat-and-mouse game.

I am so happy that ZEE5 comes up with such great concepts. Six college friends reunited is a great idea.

The ultimate madness of a bunch of jokers except Namit & Ishaa.I don't know why so many good actors / actresses like Namit or Ishaa get involved in such a bad web series.🙄There was some hope from Anindita(Neha), just shouting instead of acting.🙁
There is everything except acting like unnecessary sex, drugs, ultimate violence. The storyline is very weak😟

One of the most disgusting web series Ever made. Watch only if you like drugs and unnecessary fighting for nothing. Totally a nonsensical story.

The twist in the trip is that they play a scary game called mafia and the game brings out the worst in them.
Brilliant, believable and relatable performances and characters. A fabulous concept but with a greater need for refining. Context was lacking in so many places and a slightly out of balance narrative dulls the overall visual impact.

What a waste! Who could even think of a rubbish story with zero character of each character...zero logic, zero acting!
I am angry on myself to watching this show. Atleast could have realised it while making it..how can you waste Namit Das in such pathetic web series.
It's a chutiya show!
Please don't watch it!

I love Tanmay Dhanania. He has done true justice in the character of Rishi in the show.
Web series in India have characters using the #F word in almost every dialogue they give. Watching any conversation becomes a pain. Good story ofcourse showing the state of the present generation.

Absurd series which is released
ugly characters, unnecessary abuses, for no reason they start fighting, no humor
after 6 years they are meeting in a reunion and in the first glance they started fighting
at a time 6 people are always fighting for no reasons at the top of their voice with abuses
pls do not waste your time

Overall this one-season series is well-crafted from the beginning. The storyline, sub-plots and majorly the screenplay of every episode except the last one are amazing. Yes, there is so much nudity and sex and violence, but for this series, those were required. But I have some questions-cum-accusations below:-
_Mysteries were going excellent side by side, then why this illogical ending? There is no logical sense of the final episode and main 'mafia's execution of all kind of hanky panky.
_Even after the final episode, you need to analysis again that why does a so-chilling story takes this kind of weird climax. I don't know exactly what happened with screenwriters while they had writing this episode!
_Anindita Bose is so so so much talented. She has a strong power, rich acting skills. She has the capability of acting in every role. A big clap for her.
_Namit Das is fabulous. Every moment when he came on screen, he has the charisma of mesmerising us by his talent. We need more from you in future.
_Isha Saha had more chances to give her best, but things couldn't work for her in this. Bad luck!
_ Sourabh Sarashwat needs to rectify his bengali speaking skills. Otherwise he is OK.
_ I am not a fan of Birsa Dasgupta. But, he directed very well here. Carry on, but don't ruined the climax every time. This is 2020 & we get access of Guillem Morales, Jordan pele, Juan José Campanella, Ari aster, karin kassuma etc. So we know the exact modern definition of thrillers. Make some good political thriller if you really want to do so.

- There are so much potential is hiding behind Ankita Chakravarty, Madhurima Roy and Aditya Bakshi. Also has potential in Tanmay Dhanania. BUT -
